Gut feeling is fake as it appears to swing and wobble all over the place. I would imagine that a species capable of inter stellar travel would have eliminated all this unecessary movement a long time ago. I believe that they are out there and that they are visiting us but this aint them.
Who's to say this has to be "them?" I think most of the sightings we have today aren't alien. I think the "powers that be" have been up to something big, and they aren't letting the rest of us in on the technology.
