  • WOW JUST AWESOME bro...man call me need some help. thanx

  • i agree with every one else! you are soo cute and helpful, and explaining things clearly!

  • Dude, your video is very helpful. Almost killed myself trying to figure out how to do this.

  • I followed all the steps.

When i try to cut, the video stops. any ideas on this?

The playhead synk is OPEN but I have only the blue square.. the green one just shows up when the playhead is OFF

  • Many thanks for this - much appreciated. Best wishes, Mat

  • tkz :D

  • Is there anyway to to use the keyboard number buttons as a way to switch between shots?

  • yo where can i download that song man!

  • very good turial mi amigo , gracias very much

  • after every is done when i am playing timeline and clicking on any of the multi video it stops playing and whole timeline becomes that video which i click settings in open

  • this video saved my final. Thank you.

  • You skipped over how to sync the finished audio with the multiclip- that's where I'm stuck. How do you do that??

  • oh my god this is amazing!!!! thank you sooo much and... don't be embarassed you're so cute ;)

  • This was a very helpful and great video. Just curious are you using Final cut pro X now? Can you do this with FCP x? Would you be able to make a video for that?

  • Nice! Have you signed up with a record company?

  • excellent video thankyou so much

  • Hey, great tutorial, explained a lot!

    I've got one trouble though...

Today I just filmed a music video and I have 16 different takes (4 cams played 4 times) to sync, obviously it's going to be very hard to select the clips live doing it the way you just showed, is there a 'manual' alternative?

I'm a complete novice when it comes to Final Cut I usually just use iMovie.

    Thanks, Luke

  • Nice tutorial.

  • who the fuck would dislike this video 1 dislike? thats embarrassing

  • @Ananananaism Thank you. and aw shucks.

  • Thanks for the quick reply man. I followed your advice and it's working fine. I hope u make more videos. I'm just experimenting eoyj transitions at the moment. Peace

  • I got to end of the tutorial with ur video thanks man, only thing is even tho iv got it on Open like u said wen I hit play only the right hand side video moves and not the multi cam screen ..any ideas. Thanks again

  • @iNC0GNiToSHiN0BiiBY make sure after you set the playhead sync to open, you don't click on the footage in the timeline. the safe place to click is in the grey area above the footage. The playhead sync likes to turn off if you click anywhere but that grey area.

  • AWESOME VIDEO. If anyone says they dont' understand the multiclip even after watching this video, better quit learning fcp :) You are rocking! I am yet to try it, but am pretty confident that i would be able to nail it with your video help. thank you!

  • @iharyharan thank you so much!

  • I have been using FCP for almost 2years for my job, never had any formal training, never knew this existed.....omg so much time could have been saved.... Thank you for the vid

  • Great video, this just saved me hours of work, thanks man

  • Hey Steve, how r u doing ? U haven't put out any videos n a while HUH?. Well I was wondering can u make a video on how to make videos look like the movies on TV. Thankz .......Casper3580

  • @Casper3580 I've got one in the works. How to make videos look like movies on TV? How much money have you got?

  • Hey Steve, how r u doing ? U haven't put out any videos n a while HUH?. Well I was wondering can u make a video on how to make videos look like the movies on TV. Thankz

  • Excellent. Very clear. Thank you.

  • @patrickegan you're welcome. thank you. :)

  • I do multiclip from time to time but sometimes forget the steps so I checked out your video by chance. I really like the way you did it by cutting the clips and doing it from a bin. All the other methods are clunkier and this technique works quick and easy! Thanks Bro!!

  • @brianberneker thank you so much, man!

  • helpfull video. really cool song, keep it up bro.

  • @theDonDroid double thank you, man.

  • We use the mult-clip editing alot we really like it. We have 3 canon xl 2 camera's and access to 6. We use markers to sync up. We mark each film strip and drag the film strips to the markers to syn. When you get used to it, is easy.

  • Hi from Iceland, thanks for the brilliant tutorial, so simple and clear!

  • @brianFitzGibbon thank you!

  • great video thanks. Saved me a lot of time and fiddling!!

  • Man, your vid was realy helpfull, saved me a lot of time. Tks a lot

  • @juniorwin thank you very much!

  • Hey Steve I know today is Easter so Happy Easter...LOL, But i'm still working from ur Multiclip vid. Im all the way up to the three clips in the viewer, when I push play the video starts, but when I click on another clip, everything stop.....without playing the video, the three clip will change...what could I have done WRONG? Martin...A.K.A. Casper728

  • @Casper3580 the only thing I can think of, is make sure your playhead sync is set to open in your viewer. Keep checking the playhead sync every five seconds, because FCP has a tendency to revert it back.

  • ok Steve, I guess I have to work on getting me an iMac.....lol. does the iMac gives you the ability to zoom in on you screen at any given time also?...Thanks again

  • @Casper3580 yes. in the system preferences>universal access window it gives you options for zooming. I have mine set to Hold Control, then Scroll with my mouse up to zoom in, or down to zoom out. It's pretty handy.

  • Hey DI if I may call you that, but I just got started with FCP about a yr ago, but your short video on multi clips has answered a whole yr of me wondering how do they do that....LOL, I do thank you very much, so I did subscribe to your page, please keep up the good work......as a beginner can you tell me how you got your face on screen while you were talking at the same time...P.s.s. don't laugh at me ,I told you I was a beginner.....Take care. Mar10Nry@msn.com

  • @Casper3580 You can call me whatever you want, haha. But Steve is just fine. :) Thank you so much for your compliments. I'm using quicktime player version 10 (which came with my iMac). It has the ability to record your screen. It also has the ability to record a video with the built-in webcam. So I simply click on "New Movie Recording", then "New Screen recording". I simply leave the webcam video window open as I record the screen.

  • look up wacka flack bustin at em

  • This is a poor example, I tried to find a much better song, but this was al i could find, the strobe efect & the skipping frames effect

  • can you do a tutorial on the flashing effect, i see it in mainly hiphop videos, when the camera flashes really quick and sometimes the footages even skips, how do the do that?

  • @brandonhowie can you link me to a video with said effect?

  • thankX good explanation keep it up bro.

  • good explanation keep it up bro.

  • You saved my wrists...

  • Thank you so very much for this. And you're not a bad singer, so don't feel ashamed.

I'm still in search of the best way to do clip syncing. I just purchased two Zi8's and wanting to do some multicam setup for recording, any suggestions?

  • @bradtwo Thanks, haha. I'd say try doing a slate. And also check out this tutorial I made about syncing audio: youtube.com/watch?v=y272istt_QE

  • @oribali you can make the multiclip even if you shot the footage with one camera. This typically works best with a music video since there is song involved that keeps the continuity exactly the same between each shot. I made the example multiclip you see in this tutorial with one camera.

  • Hey! But there's a question! (sorry for my english first) So this is only works when I recording with more than 1 camera at the same time, or I can make it using one?

  • This is the best tutorial I1ve ever seen! Seriously! Subbed :)

  • OMG YOU ARE T HE BEST!!!!!

  • This is Great! I just shot some video with 3 camera's and i was wondering how i was going to edit it. Thanks for the video.

  • Thanks, Dude! I'm an AVID editor and just getting more proficient with FCP and your short tutorial was just what I needed.

  • @redeyeproductions1 You're very welcome! I haven't done a tutorial in a while, I could use an idea for a new one. Any thing else I could help you with?

  • What Type Of Camcorder Did You Use In Your Old Video Clips, , it looks pretty clear
