In Norway you have to be 18 or older to buy and use airsoft guns (I belive it's pretty much the same for the rest of europe as well). Other then that anyone can buy an airsoft gun. A lot of kids have their parents buy them shitty airsoftguns and have "backyard wars", but that's not really considered airsoft. And that can actually be quite dangerous, as their eye protection rarely are sufficient, even for very low FPS weapons. That's why we have age restrictions.

You can buy airsoft markers, which are paintballs for airsoft guns. Plus it's realistic and you can buy airsoft guns more powerful than paintball guns. Plus most of us have real guns and as for "only little kids play airsoft" Yeah we hate them as much as you do. Problem solved. Airsoft is better for simulation and a cheaper alternative and paintball is better for a sport, and it's more widely recognized
