Cap's shield is made of vibranium, in some versions adamantium, and in some versions even a metal from Asgard. Superman once used Cap's shield. Thor told Superman that there is no shield like it in all the worlds.

@12Chris6 He is awesome, but there is always a chance something will not match up, like the change from Edward Norton to Mark Ruffalo for Hulk. As soon as the change happened people started complaining about it because it is unfortunate. I'm not saying anyone will be horrible, everyone seems passionate about it and I do believe they couldn't have picked any better for anyone, but with big projects like this things CAN go wrong. That said, he is a beast, and The Avengers are in good hands.
