@Bcm80 1st of all he was not "clearly down" If the ball crossed the goal line while he was at his furthest point in the air it is a TD. The problem with that play is that it should not have been called a TD on the field. The ref has to see the ball accross the line before raising his arms. He did not. That ref did screwed up and once he did the replay needed conclusive evidence that the ball did not cross. And since the ball is hidden while he is in mid air you cannot over turn the play. cont...

So the fact that Pit converted that to set the Ben TD up and the fact that the TD happend on 3rd down and the Steelers were going to go for it on 4th and had a good chance to score anyways makes it not such of a huge play. Seahawk fans want to complain about that 1 inch that ben "might" have been short but they forget about the 28 yards from the 3rd down conversion. Next play...

The game was the worst officiated game I have ever seen. The fact that it was the superbowl and they all went in the Pittsburgh Steelers favor was just too much. The referees determined that game much more than Pittsburgh did. Seattle would have to overcome Pittsburgh AND the referees. No way was that happening. Watching that game was a huge waste of time. I'm from Seattle and a life long Hawks fan. However, as a kid, my 2nd favorite team was the Steelers (of course at the time I thought it was 'Stealers') so this super bowl was really hard to watch for me.
Granted, the Hawks gave up some big plays and had poor clock management, but still....the bad calls MUST HAVE had an effect on the game. And obviously the Hawks got screwed.

@Bcm80 1st of all he was not "clearly down" If the ball crossed the goal line while he was at his furthest point in the air it is a TD. The problem with that play is that it should not have been called a TD on the field. The ref has to see the ball accross the line before raising his arms. He did not. That ref did screwed up and once he did the replay needed conclusive evidence that the ball did not cross. And since the ball is hidden while he is in mid air you cannot over turn the play. cont...

this particular play was a bad call (the low block call) but it still doesn't take the INT away, the refs didnt fail to tackle willie parker on his 75 yard TD scamper, the refs didn't throw a red zone pick in the 4th quarter, the refs didn't get duped and give up the trick play by randle el to hines ward, the refs didn't drop numerous wide open passes during the game....the seahawks had many chances to not only get back into the game, but win the game...their failure is their fault, not the refs

The game was the worst officiated game I have ever seen. The fact that it was the superbowl and they all went in the Pittsburgh Steelers favor was just too much. The referees determined that game much more than Pittsburgh did. Seattle would have to overcome Pittsburgh AND the referees. No way was that happening. Watching that game was a huge waste of time. The Steelers fans I know are honest about it. If it wasn't fixed, it was HEAVILY influenced by the refs.

He is speared helmit 1st by Tatupu. no call for spearing with helmit or hitting a sliding QB. NO call. On the Sea int return. Ben is clearly blocked in the back NO call. But that one is cancelled out by the bad call on H'beck on the pit int return. Sea 3rd punt return was for 22 yards and had 2 holds and a block in the back. NO call.

Why would he jump back with the ball coming? EASY call. the Ben TD was very close and on the replay you kind of lose sight of the ball as ben is at his furthest point. right before the hit. If the ball is still under bens right arm as he takes the hit then part of it is over the edge of the goal line. u have to stay w/call on field

I watched it with Steeler fans and they knew and always have known the referees helped Pittsburgh huge. I'm from Seattle and a life long Hawks fan. However, as a kid, my 2nd favorite team was the Steelers (of course at the time I thought it was 'Stealers') so this super bowl was really hard to watch for me.
Granted, the Hawks gave up some big plays and had poor clock management, but still....the bad calls MUST HAVE had an effect on the game. And obviously the Hawks got screwed.

I don't have to prove it. The fact the Rooney family was so disgusted with Big Ben's antics that they almost traded him is all the proof I need. BTW, Arnold Palmer HATES Big Ben and Arnie is one of Western Penn's greatest heroes.

between the td they gave the pedifile in the 5 yrd line and the phantom pass interference where even john madden said "if theres a penalty, it wasnt there" those are epic bad calls....in the super bowl where 1 play makes the difference.. like where the saints went for an onside kick against the colts....that shit changed the whole game......TRY 2 -3 HORRENDOUS CALLS....and i dont mind the steelers , but that was just rediculous
