Because unfortunately there is a very real threat of someone bringing a gun to school and shooting students. The law enforcement need to be prepared for that and take necessary steps to train for such an event.
How ironic. A Stockton elementary school playground was the site of where a gunman opened fire, killing five students and wounding several others. He then turned the gun on himself. Perhaps that might've been some type of wake-up call on school violence.

How do you know they where police? I've looked up 100s of pages on G20 the only "proof" I found of any alleged undercover police is combatboots. Combatboots are not proof that someone's a cop. I have a pair of Bates myself and I'm not a cop. I'm going to school to be a k9 patrol officer but at this moment I'm not a cop. My best friend is a punk and he wears combatboots. If combatboots are enoph proof that someone's a cop then ramones, missfits, casualties are cops.

German police officers would need some drill like this. When there was a massacre at the school in Erfurt, they were standing outside, waiting for the SEK (SWAT) to come, while inside, people where screaming for help and were murdered. They were just doing nothing. Normal police officers should be prepared for such a situation, they are the first at the scene.
When I watched the Columbine shooting video, it also seemed the responding officers were hesitant to enter the school, or had been ordered to wait for the SWAT team. Meanwhile, the shooting went on inside.
I talked with a few other guys I know who are either ex-cops like me or current reservists. We all agreed that we didn't think we'd be able to wait outside, knowing kids were dying inside. We'd have been scared out of our minds, but we'd have gone in cuz the danger goes with the job.
