  • What program did u use to make this video?

  • Hey great video, and nice to meet you also

  • The music makes it totally epic! :D

  • Why I cannot view some video. it says country restriction becuase sony entertainment...

  • well, I wouldn't be so sure. In today's fast paced world, who can claim what will happen in a 5 years from now.

  • YEA!!!!! I like what you are doing here! Yep!

  • I think Social Media has done what Mussolini, Adolf Hitler, Joseph Goebbels and Joseph Stalin spent years perfecting without having ever imagined to be so easy: convince people to willingly give up their privacy and inform the whole world what they were doing and why. There is no need for wiretapping today, we have agreed to wiretap ourselves. It appears so many people in our history have died for nothing. Sad, sad humanity...

  • @lotsofcooki3s: I see your point, but surely people are only giving up their privacy to the extent that they're willing to give it up. On Facebook if you WANT everything public, it can be. If you WANT only some things to be public, then you can have it that way. Otherwise you're only sharing it with people you want to share it with (people that are your "friends" on FB). And if there's anything that you want to keep private, you just don't post it on FB? Last comment applies to Twitter too.

  • I love your vid! Good work. Check mine too on my channel bit [.] ly/9X23us

  • how do I get permission to use this in a training session for our staff?

  • If this is shocking to you then contact me at my channel and my team will help you use the amazing power of internet to become successful. No joke. No fluff. We have a Billionaire at the helm of our company. And everybody knows he has major marketing muscle.

  • Those of you who receive this link dont need to watch it :-)

  • pretty neat video . Keep up the good work

  • Social media has changed the dimensions of the internet, our views and our behaviours. Those that do not embrace it, whether it be for business or personal use will fall far behind in this internet revolution which is only just begun folks

  • Agree that social media is a strong factor. But also hyped. From the FB accounts. How many are really active? A lot have 1000 friends. From my 80 friends 15 are not really active. Including me. Twitter? 99% bullshit. Site-ads? As on tv. I dont watch or read them. If they popup i immediately close them without watching. If i need info I go find it. It DOESNT find me. No ipod/pad for me. Just my mobile and no internet on it. Youtube? Not my source for information. And i dont think i am alone...

  • @Radikalimero: I agree with you to a large extent – I am like you and ignore ads 99% of the time, whether they're on websites, TV Facebook, or whatever, but I also think there are A LOT of people that are NOT like us that are very easily influenced by ads and are not so good at ignoring them, and it's these people that make websites like FB such powerful advertising tools. I also agree that the statistics are misleading, especially (as you said) with regards to FB due to so many inactive users

  • What glorious nonsense! Facts? Hahahaha!

  • I like this...its about getting noticed.

Social media cannot weaken anything that is already strong. Twitter has helped folk talk to me as if they know me. I had not met them face to face before...it works.

It's the latest wave with the next generation that will take it to its highest levels of influence ever.

Which does not demean those who pioneered SM in the past, if not for the past we could not go to the heights we will go to today and tomorrow...thanks for being the pioneers.

  • Really good stats. All i would like to see is that they are backed up by credible sources. Guess I will have to get te book to see...

  • @NooneKeith23: Exactly what I was thinking - are ANY of these stats actually accurate? It's so easy to sit here and watch this vid and be like "Wow, that's amazing.", but then does anyone actually stop and question the credibility of these stats?

  • Brainwashing. "Social Media" has been around since 1979. The brave new Social Media world weakens the ability to concentrate and shortens peoples' attention span. "Virtual" friendships replace real-life contacts. Decentralized and anonymous communication is being abolished and replaced by a totalitarian surveillance that would make any intelligence service in history smile. People do not understand their heritage. Poor Internet.

  • @floribyt Tell us more Internet man!

  • @floribyt Sounds like you wrote the dialogue for enemy of the state. Not that I don't believe your comment but knowing 1 fact doesn't change another. It's already begun, no stopping it now.

  • great video - interesting content

  • I have been using this video in lectures, thanks very much it really helps set the scene!

  • Thanks for a nicely done video

  • great video

  • great vid, music sucks!

  • Wonderful!

  • Thanks for making the shorter version! Most people who see and understand this video these days have a short attention span. Ironically social media is taking a big part in accelerating the the distribution and consumption of bite sizes pieces of information.

  • AHHH THIS WAS AN AD!

  • @rabbitwho

who cares? It's demonstrating the point it's trying to promote by posting it on youtube. An incredibly entertaining and informitive ad, it is.

  • Social Media Revolution -- I hope you are ready!

  • Love the song

  • Cool Video!

  • Fantastic - well put together video. 3 years is a long time in the current connected world but agree you have to get to grips with social media.

  • I would have to say that this video caught my attention and opened my eyes to the reality of social media. There were some unbelievable statistics in the video.

Social Media OnSite Worlds First and Only Service to Provide Social Media Marketers that Work on a Clients Premises.

  • Nice post... I'm about to offer Social Media Consulting to the services we offer online. I will be sharing this with potential clients!

  • Is there an Nielsen ratings-type service for social media as there is for TV/Radio, etc? How are datapoints like reach and penetration verified? One of the key concerns of digital comm is the preponderance of hyperbole (as I've said a million times...). When will Twitter go the way of the CB radio, doomed by the weight of its own "success" and triviality? My guess: < 3 years.

  • Yes this is better and more succinct !

  • 100kInternetIncome-

Glad you liked the shorter version of the video. Would love to get your thoughts if you pick up a copy of the book, Socialnomics.

  • Very nice new version that focuses on social media! Will you provide a link to download a higher-res version for use offline and in presentations? That was a nice feature of earlier versions.

Also, please provide the URL for Karl's 4.0 version; I'm having trouble finding it in all the remixes now on YouTube.

    Thanks again!

  • Awesome .. Just awesome!

  • Love it...!

  • Much better. More concise and easier to follow. Excellent job!

  • Great Video!
