Estillo I have to say Im a Big fan of yours and planning to buy your Cd's all of them..I just can feel the passion in your playing..i can listen to you all day!..In my Books your one of the Greats like paco and vicente. and that not my opinion but thats a Fact! a pure musician Genius..
solea por buleria is a solea played with bulerias tones. and solea can be really fastbut it just one of the oldest flamenco styles, my teacher call solea : the mother of flamenco
I appreciated your great music. I don't know a lot about music. I played saxaphone(Eflat alto) and was a percussionist in the jr. high school and high school bands. I later had music appreciation in college. I have always enjoyed music and had the belief a person doesn't have to know how to lay an egg to be able to spot a rotten one. I think being able to blend atonal music with tonal and have it sound wonderful is an art form. You do it well. You sir are an artist. Thank you for posting.
Mr Fransisco, Edna (csybu) directed me to this. She so proud for have a teacher like you. No wonder. If I live there I'll ask you to teach me! You're really amazing! I wish I could play like you...
wonderful, very imaginative, csbyu directed me to your page, your extremely good. How long have you been playing guitar? how long have you studied theory?
lordbow - thanks for your comment. I've been playing for nearly 30 years - don't let the lack of grey hairs fool you haha! No theory studies at all - flamenco players usually begin arranging their own versions and sequences of the music they learn and this arranging is key to eventually composing their own music (for those that do). Best wishes.
Just wondering? A flamenco guitarist who has no knowledge of music theory will be able to arrange and maybe compose, if he acquires an arsenal of falsetas from various palos from which he can develop an intuitive understanding of the art!?
Thanks cheekypedro for the comment. Technically it is in the key of E if you take the capo into account. However, the shapes and patterns all relate to Eflat/D#.
Thanks marRicardo. Ah yes, the picture of Paco on my other bulería video - University (of Madrid?) sweatshirt, cigarette in hand and playing Taranta I think? Thanks for the comment and for listening. Best wishes from London.
Thanks for your comment AlexMackinum. Sound was recorded into the camera and also independently through a condenser microphone into recording equipment. I then use only the footage from the camera (mute the sound) and synchronize the independent recording which has reverb added. Best wishes.
Thanks FlamencoEstudio. Interesting - as a child I had lessons from my Enlish father (my mother is Spanish) and since then am mainly self-taught. I never studied with Manolo Franco but have always admired his incredible playing. I never thought of him as an influence but since you mentioned it I can now see what you mean - there must be something unconsciously creeping through!
