Sounds cool. Are Scania diesel engines reliable? I think some old scania trucks are cool. Unfortunately I've only seen a couple of them in real life. They're not too common in the U.S. lol.

hello passka the 141 had 375bhp never seen one without the turbo.the 140 was basically the same engine but was much higher revving.

Oh,the first scania V8 had 350hp with turbo and 285hp without turbo.Just checked that from my dad.He was the first one to drive the Scania 140 V8 in Finland.

impeller pump, nor a closed cooling system, nor marine oil cooler, and what about transmission? you will also gonna keep the clutch? ho ho ho!.. finaly you will pay much more from it bought a real sea engine.. keep playing in your backyard..

you are correct. any engine can go into a boat, IF you put the cooling in place. which for the most part is rather easily done. maybe not cheap per-se, but easy

In Chile where i live, all fish boats put Scania engines from Trucks, bcs theyre very cheap, theyre make cooling system along all boat what comes with long tubes under water... 6-12 months of Heavy Duty work and we have DEAD ENGINE with white steel inside =)!

Always Sea Diesel Engine > Truck Diesel Engine, bcs there are better for Heavy Duty and better cooling than a Truck Diesel!

@LeonidK340 Im mechanic from Scania industrial and marines engines in Sweden , our engines are developed with several parts in common with trucks engines , but the marines engines haves a complete annodized cooling system special for sea water heat exchange plus centrifugal separators for oil and diesel circuits.

You can´t expect a long term life with a truck engine inside a boat but anyways it works....

Are you shore this is a 141 engine? (ds1401) When i lock at the movie i locks like it has only one manifold if i dont rememember wrong the Ds 1401 has 2 for each site one for the first and third cylinder and one for the second and fourt.
