  • Peter Cushing was a true legend

  • Just bought 13 episodes off iTunes. 9.99 for tha lot! Unbelievably fantastic. Just watched first one: Withching Time. Sent a chill down me: brilliant.

  • if i had a guy like that i would want to be locked up with him a lot lol

  • thanks

  • I remember seeing an episode with these strange long necked creatures, or did i just imagine it.

  • If you go to 5:30, that used to be my flat on the right! And it was a fucking dump...

  • nice series. english countryside beautiful

  • The shop front used, and scenes inside the front of the shop were filmed in Broad street Chesham. Somehow whilst filming was going on I rememebr we were intrigued as we though there was going to be a new pet shop in town, and I'm sure we even went into the shop.

  • LOVE Brian Cox; he was Uncle Argyll in Braveheart and the first and original Hannibal Lecter in Manhunter.

  • They just don't make them like this anymore!

  • This is nostalgic bliss, grew up with this and definately my favourite episode. Nice-one

  • @Cardiff67235 hey mine was the warewolf one

  • what an asshole..kiulled that beautiful animal witha n electric shock

  • @goodbyelonglive44 really makes ya appreciate the fact that its only a movie, doesnt it?

  • @goodbyelonglive44 The animal hadn't learnt the rules: Pavlov experiments et al, well it's rather more sinister, without giving the plot away...

  • I have the DVD at home but am watching it while backpacking. Great stuff and worth watching just for the 80s cars, shop fronts etc that have long gone from London outer suburbia where most of the episodes were shot. Pretty nostalgic. And the stories are just great. My wife and I were equally traumatised by this in particular as 1980s kids, her in Northern Ireland, me in London.

  • "THERE HAS TO BE RULEZZZZZZZ"

  • I would be so grateful if you could upload the episodes " Visitor from the grave " and " Guardian of the abysm " , I bought the 3 first dvds of this great tv series , but unfortunately couldn´t get the last one . Thank you so much !

  • Thanks for uploading!

  • truly excellent! why oh why do they not make programmes like this anymore? and when they do its all style over substance! with OTT music and effects and budget spent on overpaid "celebs" from bleeding soaps!

  • please, let's not insult soap stars. THEY at least have jobs.. the "celebs" you make me think of don't actually really DO anything.. they make a deal where they get really famous for no reason. And in exchange they let the media humiliate them whenever they feel like it..

  • Brian Cox would later play Hannibal Lecter in Manhunter (1986)

  • The best episode

  • Got this on DVD when it first came out. I paid full wack, that's £40 but you could get it cheaper. It is worth getting and even at £40 it is worth every penny. I recommend all fan of horror to get ths series, The theme music and titles are haunting and this particular episode is a classic. They don't make them like they used to. British TV at it's best. Splendid!

  • @thecelestialtoymaker It could only be good with the late and great Peter Cushing. The twist in this tale is so good too.

  • Hammer House Of Horror is awesome. and i'm 13. we watched Children Of The Full Moon in english today and thought it was ace!! xD

  • I've got all of the episodes on dvd!

  • Xmas dinner sorted.... fried only though.

  • that guy looks like Dr. Kevorkian

  • This was one of my fave episodes. The theme music however, still freaks me out to this day.

  • Peter Cushing Is Great In These Type Of Roles.

  • Elaine Donnelly is lovely in this one

  • Brilliant thriller!

  • my mother was a bit liberal ...thats a horror in its self libral parents...

  • Yes, it's such a drag when your parents don't beat you or fail to indoctrinate you with their bigotry.

    You should report them.

  • ???? LOL. What? You have no idea what you are talking about...people who aren't liberals are bigots and beaters??? LOL. Please never comment again, dude. You're an ignoranus.

  • You really need a sense of humour transplant.

    Bloody septics!

  • BTW, the word is 'ignoramus'.

  • Peter Cushing was a great actor

Those animals in the cages are soooo cute

  • I always wondered what this was didn't remember it being a episode of Hammer House Of Horror Thought it was a movie

  • i know you your going to tell me i murderd my wife ,

  • In Britain, there are plenty of stores, but no money.

They have got so good at "capitalism", that now the shop owner has all the money and all the goods, and we the people, have neither. Ha ha, its so funny, really.

They are trying to work out how to make us believe, once more, that capitalism can survive the hatred of the people.

Good luck Venezuela, you have the BEST health service in the wolrd.

In ? Britain, most people die from germs because the govt LIKES us to die (it is CHEAPER).

  • Who ever thought that a system based on exponential growth by the exploitation of finite resources would ever grind to a halt?

Capitalism continues to exist purely because the bankers keep it's corpse next to the radiator and occasionally pass off the movement of maggots as signs of life.

Like Henry Ford said, 'if the people understood the banking system there would be a revolution tomorrow'.

  • Peter Cushing does a great performance here. As he always do.

  • Brian Cox excellent also

  • @rodrigoraulsuarez hey @0:41 the lion can escape cage is open

  • you can buy the hammer house of horror dvd complete set.all 13 episodes on amazon for £11.97 plus p+p folks

  • Oh my God what a blast from the past - I remember watching this episode as a child (my mother was a bit liberal when it came to letting me watch horror) and for years and years it has been on my mind - the scene at the end when the couple realise they are trapped in the house. Wonderful to have found it again!

  • This was my fave episode! Love it! Thanks for posting. This creeped me out the first time round :)

  • love this one the ending was brilliant. i have the whole set on dvd.sometimes watch them on a saturday night and relive my youth. but dont hide behind couch anymore lol

  • This was made for UK television? Never heard of this one. That same year (1980) there was a movie in the theaters with the same name SILENT SCREAM with Barbara Steele.

  • Coincidentally, that was also the title of a highly controversial (and largely debunked) anti-abortion propaganda film made in 1984.

  • I'm finally seeing at again after 28 years! This was something my mum had let me stay up late to watch, but for years I had no idea what it was. Fantastic.

  • Brilliant! This was my fave! I have waited so long to see this again... Thanks you, thank you, thank you!!

  • great stuff do u think you can get hold of Childs Play real creepy the Hammer production About a bricked up house

  • terrifying. scarred my childhood. still in therapy. "There has to be rules"....

  • nice one. one of my favourite episodes this.
