By far and will always be the best martial art out there (my opinion)
I did it over thirty years ago because I was bullied soo much at school, it did calm the bullies down but, I still used it when needed, and I emphasise 'needed'.
Due to a head injury (RTA) had to give it up have not been back since.
I would do 'anything' to go back to it (and I am filling up)
By far the best thing I ever did-nothing will ever surpass that either...
I know this is an old comment but c'mon....seriously? Judo = not very usefull? or are you talking about the training meathod? Either way you're coming across a little clueless. Whatever your chosen style of training i recomend you add some judo and then tell me again in 6 months if you think it's "usefull"
Im 295lbs and Jacked,im setting up a challenge that no Judo freak could take me down,no one has yet,and i doubt they ever will.Judo is fine for light-medium built people-no good on a crazed jacked up power house!
@BogusBoy2121 Have you considered that there is someone of equal strength to you who practices judo?
Also i have met several people some of whom are world chapmions who weight about 60-66 kg and they could beat you in a fight without even breaking a sweat, this a can assure you.
@Eclipse1234567ify This is quite true, you are of course correct, there are people out there who are bigger and stronger. My techniques take in the best points from several martial arts,+ I have a very very good understanding of the biology of the human body, and what in particular it takes to stop,or debilitate a human being, and if i fancy I could this and inflict a despicable level of pain as well. Its my job to know what Im doing,Its my career.
@BogusBoy2121 To add to my statement i notice you live in the UK. why not come down to the Camberly judo club and see I you are correct in your assumption.
@Eclipse1234567ify Ha do you know what I might just take you up on your offer! And Ill even make sure I wear some clothes that give you plenty of "handles"because i know you Judo Guys would be stuffed without them. Its a pity im so far away,Im sorely tempted to stay the night and bring my Missus to film it!
great resouce but I don't know but this video always gets to me..sumi otoshi and uki otoshi looked to be done in same exact direction and to be the same to me..also uchi mata looked more of a hani goshi than an actual inner tigh reep. I know it is very hard to show everything perfectly but to new player it can be very misleading..but that is just me
Judo has throws such as the hip throw that are easy to do. many don't realize that easy to do and ability to do effectively are WAY different
These throws have the technique to where if a guy isn't just standing there and being your bitch and actually trying to defend and throw you IT WILL WORK
Ninpo Ninjitsu, BJJ, Muay Thai, Judo
I have teaching certifications in all but my favorite besides Ninpo is by FAR Judo simply because your are throwing a guy x20 your weight HARD in a way that is fun
In a "real fight", you are lucky if you see the fucker that breaks the beer bottle over your head.
The fact of the matter is, training in a martial art makes you a better fighter, but everything is circumstantial, and you won't think about what you are using in a fight.
If you practice your MA enough, kinesthetic memory (muscle memory) is a key factor.
@jedwards0820 How often is it, some random guy busts a bottle over your head? Usually, you're beefin, so you kinda pay attention to where they are and who they are with? And why would someone throw out the fact that they practice striking, defending, takedowns, submissions, and all other training they've had when the situation arrises where they would use it...Unless they go into a blind rage, which is a horrible thing to do, they should use their training...
He is doing the moves slow for a reason. Don't speak in ignorance please.
I will explain so that next time you know, if you are performing a demo, and you go fast, it does not show skill. Going fast simply means you did the outline of the move and your partner fell for you. In going slow, your partner still falls for you, but the technique is visible. That is why he is going slow, so that the technique can be seen.
you dont have to rely on speed or strength in jiu jitsu (i dont know about judo, ive never really done any). in jiu jitsu, moving so fast disables your technical mind, blinds you from thinking through your moves. sure it can help in some situation, like defending a takedown, but no more than strength can help. 9/10 a calm, cool minded, thinking player will stay relaxed and pick off the many mistakes made by a rushing player.
i never ever ever ever ever ever ever said rush. you have to know your throws in your sleep, this way you can really do damage. look this guy up. he's the national champion of karate, not judo or jiu jitsu, but his name is rafael agahyev, i believe his name is. hes from azaerbarajian, (sorry, im not good at spelling) and he can really punch and kick like motherfucking lightning quick, watch a tournament or 2, i promise youll be impressed
U r so f-ing rite man i won my judo finals amd i was able to go to japan to compete and my opponent beat me with O GARUMA and he did it like lightining fast i didn't even know wat happened
ye, thas the way to do it. 1 suggestion, use sassai in next competition, ive thrown olympians with that. i work with four or five olympians in 2 different schools =]]] my sassai is fuckin deadly, and i get em walking.... they go to throw, i block, i keep em walking..... BOOOOOOMMMMM!!!!!! i get em with sassai and they got no f-in idea what the hell hit em. you gotta be that quick.

Lol... it's useful not everything works the first time.. You see it in MMA everyday. I'll let you guess.
@mikeharbour2
it's not repeating, it's the way he positions, which is why the names have the same "gari" or "toshi" or "makikomi" at the end.

Let us know what happens! Videos might be great too. And if you want to do a more public challenge, do one that isn't on youtube comments.
Besides that, this is a great video. :)

First judo throw I ever hit in a BJJ competition.
Of course, I don't think any real judo player would claim it as one of their own...it ended up being a trip more than anything.
But that's what I was going for when I got the throw.

i have never used this fighting technique but i was thinking how hard would it be to do this with your partner actually fighting back

@ene777 dont agree with you

@ene777 Going slow also reduces the injury to your partner. If its in a real fight, who cares about your opponent.
jethrotay 3 months ago
I agree with you because its not just because he is slow. I know Jujitsu and Judo and i know how fast you have to be to make moves like that.

Uh...he is DEMONSTRATING those moves.
ps. it's JUJUTSU(JUUJUTSU 柔術), enough with that "jujitsu" shit.

i agree, i know jiu jitsu and judo, and you gotta be like fucking lightning to be mildly good. nothing is raw strength.

The better judoka should win. But with two equally skilled judoka speed and strength will also be important.
