  • Me gusta usar blender y desde luego no esta mal lo que ya has conseguido. Pero, como suelo hace cuando comento, ya he encontrado detalles que podrias mejorar. Tales detalles son hacer mas altos los pisos del edificio o bajar la altura de la camara y poner mas escaleras. Meros detalles de "tiquismiquis". Pero sigo diciendo que esta bastante bien.

    Otro punto a tu favor seria colgarlo en sitios como megaupload para que la gente pueda descargarlo y probarlo.

  • I personally think this is amazing! I love the water and grass, so smooth. Buildings too. Five years ago, this would have been praised on PS2 etc. That you did this all on your own? very impressive!

  • Hmm, good, but have you considered ditching that fog for a set of render layers, like in Spyro the Dragon, where detail is limited at distances and better up close. I also saw another example where a screenshot of the environment is taken beyond, say, 50 units and pasted on a hemispherical/cylindrical wall around the player so that they see the environment beyond, and the wall is a ghost. Interesting methods, but maybe you could do it? It'd be quite the challenge. Just ideas. Good job though.

    how did you done it?

    i saw it in a blend file i downloaded...

    i found nothing in the camera settings and if i delete the camere and added a new one it was widescreened, too.

    pls say me how to do that...

    and maybe you know how i can make the game fullscreened (i mean when i saved it as exe it should be widescreened and fullscreened...)

    You are rendering 3D water? That's awesome. So many people are forgetting that just 3-4 years ago when Crisis came out, we saw black bars rolling across our screens because it took too much time to create a driver to render 3D waves, how far have we come since then?

    ... @Graphicianz Speaking of which, how DID you set the controls? I've been wondering if there's a way to set the camera to follow the mouse like a 1st person game, and it looks like you either did that here. So far, I've only figured out how to set object to move/rotate when you press a certain key.

  • thats a low fps... I am planing on making an fps in blender over this summer, and I was wondering, will the game acheive higher fps when it is completely compiled? or is the blender engine just slow?

  • I would think you could take this "scene" as you call it and make a small tutorial about how you did it, and you could most DEF sell that shit, Iw ould buy it. (if I had the money) you seem like you know what you're doing.

    This scene was made by one person in a program for his unvercity project , NOT by a professional game developtment team.

    So before you call the person a 'moron' , try to do something like this yourself , lets see if you can even figure out how to make a triangle with your big mouth.

  • what you do so it does not crash your comp you make each object in high poly then u render out 3 -4 views of that take them to photo shop or gimp (2-d sotfware) those photos need to belind up then used s texture in bleder

  • @SporeMK his computer doesn't suck dumbass....blender is a big and powerful programme, and he made a very big and powerful computergame - if he would play that without recording he would have no lagg at all, but he is recording which is too much pressure for any normal computer

  • @SporeMK no, his computer does not suck, it looks like he has a Ambient Occlusion script going, which dramatically kills your framerate + he's using a screen recorder, those cut off framerate, also.

  • @SporeMK Computer doesn't suck i takes allot of ram to do screen recording and even more to run a game

    By looking at this awesome pretty big and detailed map with even alpha plants and gloom effect, I start thinking that blender doesn't have many disadvantages compared to C++ with DirectX, now does he?

  • Are you able to export this game as an .exe file. I tried to export some games from the book and it didn't export the uv textures. Also, why is your blender able to move so fast. I did particles in mine and it moves very slow. I only have the motherboard built in graphics card.

  • Certainly :) but the Full game is very bored, just only walk around the scene. Then I'll upload only the scene above that you'll be the camera and move around the scene by keyboard. I'll post the downloadable link in this thread later...

  • Cool level but 5 fps is brutal. Hopefully it is just the screen recorder.

  • well the mist, shaders and filters put the fps down, And it would be fairly high poly count plus high res texture (not saying they are high res) can also count towards low frame rate.

  • why would it..., you can shorten then max clipping on the camera so it dosent have to load as much scene (making it run a bit faster) then cover the bad looking clipping with the fog

  • Nice video !,, more than a game, looks like a render, nicely baked, you worked very well, a have a little tip for you, if you work with photoshop or the gimp, try make textures a bit satureless and with more contrast, active normal maps in some sectors, congratulations, continue like this. ..

  • If your going to have a sky, the mist shouldnt be white. still really good

  • I don't know the right technique of the other modeler...but for me, I'll design the plan in front view and top view (and the other view if you want) with AutoCAD.Place that front view and top view in my 3dview (same technique with human modeling). Then I start with small cube, cube , and cube....

  • Just make two layers of uv textures, the first layer has the texture itself, and the second one a new image created by blender (you must to select image --> new), be sure to set up ambient occlusion in approximate, add a light and then select the object, press Ctrl + Alt + B, then full render and wait for the result, try later to change light colour, position or style and you will have different results....
