I notice you didnt use glitter. You must be smarter than your average RootWorker. It seems all too common to glitter the top of the candle. Glitter tends to be lil shiny pieces of plastic, which is toxic when burned. I always thought someone messed that one up and passed it on to the world. Now Cooking sprinkles for cakes would work well for that but seems no one has given it any thought.
I usually sage the candle to cleanse it, and/or ring a bell or shakers around the candle to break the energy. I'll sprinkle salt around the base to keep negative energy out, then proceed to blessing it with words, oils, herbs, and then lighting it, while speaking my intentions. Its all in the same!
