First game I ever got when I got my 64!!! That Pyramid Stage on multiplayer was the SHIT when time was running out and the water began to rise!!! :D I still remember the commercials for this game! :) Good times, goooood times. :3

OMG.. *note i did play this after Mischief makers.. and Quest 64 * ... SHUDDER... what a dry spell... but anyway i rented this from Family Video.. and let me just say this was the best damn bomberman game ever made... I dont even remember what I did that year besides play bomberman and goldeneye ^^ CHEERS!

You skipped talking to Sirius, and didn't even bother explaining anything about the gameplay. It doesn't feel so much like a "Let's Play" so much as it does a "Hey look at me I'm playing a game." Although I can't say it isn't entertaining at all. Running from those eggies made me grin at least.

As for gameplay tips, you recover faster from dizziness via rapid control stick input (although you're told to do circles, simply jiggling the stick in any direction does the trick). Also, see my videos.

The reason I skipped talking to Sirius was because during the intro cutscene the game glitched, loading it back up dropped me off at the beginning of the level without any of that.

On the console, you can skip the intro by hitting reset as soon as you create a file and then just load it after that, and you still have to talk to sirius in the first level. I believe you talk to him the first time you go to the level regardless of it being your first choice or not.

Using a ROM idiot or not, I felt the absence of the directions made it seem less like it's about the game and more about him being frustrated. There isn't enough real commentary, so the boring parts of the gameplay are boring parts of the video, too. Other videos I've seen have done a good job keeping people's attention throughout.

This video had a couple funny moments, but doesn't have much going for it overall in my opinion. It's only your first LP, though, so maybe I'm being overly critical.

As for resetting the game, many emulators do actually have a reset function. Also, I never said he hadn't played the game before. As a matter of fact, I assumed he had played it before, and is doing a Let's Play because he likes the game.

I guess it is kind of a good day, though, so far.

As for your broader point about the audience not needing to be involved, feeling in the dark about things they're seeing tend to cause them to lose interest. Has anyone ever linked you to a trick for a game you haven't played? You may not see the point, and it feels slightly uncomfortable if they talk more about it, not bothering to fill you in. Maybe Let's Plays are more about doing than seeing, I guess.
