I lived in a trailer about 1 mile from the houses that got destroyed, my girlfriend wanted me to come over to wait out the storm so i did and that was actually closer to the tornado, luckely her house didnt get hit, she lives about a half mile from where the homes got destroyed.
We came back from Mtn. Home Arkansas on new years eve, the damn storm was with us the whole way to STL. We were at Willow Springs on 63 north, radio said a tornado 11 miles SW of Good Hope in Douglas Co., it started raining between Houston and Cabool, and around 9:40 we were in Edgar Springs and there was talk of a tornado on ft. Leonard Wood. We were close. We stopped at the BP there at 44 and 63 in Rolla by the univ. around 10 AM and tornado sirens were going off. Got some pics and vid.
Hey I lived in rolla for a few years and my husband is Born and raised there. Can you tell me is that a school or something behind those houses? My mother in law lives there and this seems to be the ONLY video that shows the tornado, and when I show my husband I want to give him an idea of what area I am looking at. Thanks.
@fatbitchbarbie27 this is north of I44 between the second and third exits of Rolla. It is down Vichy road which is the road right next to Panera and Thomas Jefferson hall. Hopefully that's helpfull.
as you are filming this the tornado is leveling one of my best friends house and his grandparents house. you shot the video of their houses being leveled
That is my grandparents and my cousin! My Aunt just informed me of this video and it hitting their houses right as he was filming. Wish it was a little close tho.
Wanted to say that you truly handled your video very well. Another person ended up giving away their footage of the Ft. Wood tornado, and I am sure it ended up hurting those who wanted to sell. If you decide to chase in the future and capture more video feel free to contact me anytime.
wow.... awesome but scary video!!! i live in maryland heights and we are very fortunate that the brunt of the storm went south of us... however we did get lots of rain, wind, and uprooted trees... hope everyone is okay!
im from columbia.......but i had no tornadoes yet...
