Studios are backing out becuase the movies they previously hyped the hell out there have bombed hard at the box office; Scott Pilgrim and Sucker Punch got strong internet hype after comic-con last year and they all flopped on theatrical release. Green Lantern is also hardly breathing any life at the box office right now. And who could forget Tron: Legacy? Probably a smart move, I want to see a teaser that looks official instead of a regular footage reel like the Thor teaser that went out in '10.

@MrCure4 I honestly wish Scott Pilgrim did better at the BO. such a great movie. The others? Not so much. Well i enjoyed Tron. Wish i didn't miss the panel. would have been awesome to be apart of the Grid crowd! BTW i agree with what ur saying.

@Channel23hahaha Looks like The Avengers may in fact still be at Comic-Con this year, but I still hope no footage is shown, the teaser for Thor last year turned a lot of people off because it wasn't finished, we don't want the same thing to happen to this one and have those Dark Knight fan-boys badmouthing the flick already.

i don't know what Warner Bros. is thinking, they only comic films they have done was 300, Watchmen and Batman. WB should take lesson from the other movie companies before starting a production.

i think its a great publicity stunt. Its just their way of building up the anticipation for their forthcoming films. I must say it has worked iam intrigued now and look forward to any details they do decide to relase via whatever source the choose to go by.

i think last year the panel is good enough that they think it would satisfy the fans. However i think it will be for fans to see more in comic con 2011 because it is such a big move for marvel and also for superhero movies. I would love to see something cool like RDJ talking about acting in ironman with other big star characters (sorry my English is not very good but i enjoy your show a lot, keep doing it! :D)

I have no real opinion on the lack of Marvel/DC panels at Comic-con (simply because I won't be there anyway), but it does seem kind of foolish. Mayhaps a......surprise panel?!? *queue dramatic music*

I feel that MARVEL backing out is both good and bad. Bad for that it will only heighten the anticipation more than ever for the fans but good that there will be more focus on the comics there. So it's official that both of you going then, huh? Maybe the three of us could meet up there. I have a 4 day pass for this year.
