I'm not too sure about that. The modern Egyptians may have a pretty dark skin, but they descend from both the ancient Egyptians and the Arabians.

I am currently in the military and have been around many Egyptians, modern Egyptians are light skinned and mostly resemble their Arabian counterparts. Most of the darker ones are in the rual slum parts.

In Civ 4, Quin was in front of the great wall and Kublai in the Forest.
