Play it all the way through, side-quests included, and then do Hero Mode. Then judge.
I wanted this game MORE than Pikmin (a game my favorite LPer, chuggaaconroy, played) but I couldn't get it because 1.) It needed MotionPlus and 2.) It was like 50 bucks!!! EXPENSIVE. Saw it @ Gamestop.

@gerben838665 Zelda: Twilight Princess, Super Mario Galaxy 1& 2, Mario Kart Wii, Super Smash Bros Brawl to name a few. Games like these these will leave you scratching your head 'til it is raw and bloody as to why you didn't buy a Wii earlier! I have a 360 and PS3 and the best release last year for me was this game hands down. Buy a Wii! They're cheap and the games are timeless classics. You won't whip out the PS3 in ten years time for their titles but the Nintendo titles always hold well!
it has neither been confirmed nor denied that the wii u cannot play skyward sword. in fact, nintendo wants wii u to be backwards compatible, which would suggest that it could play skyward sword.

I was reading an xbox magazine just to see what it was like (im a die hard zelda fan) and they decided to review 1 nintendo game, they reviewed windwaker and said it was a horrible 3/10 with shitty controls, story, graphics and gameplay.. WTF XBOX.
@starfoxrocks1 sorry but I have to disagree with you on that one. Twilight Princess was very annoying with the wolf parts, I'll give you that. It was probably trying to do a bit much, but all of the human sequences were amazing. I hated having to play the wolf scenes over again, they're long and feel very repetitive because you're so limited when playing as a wolf. While the gamplay looks good in this game, I will still probably not play it, Cant get past the mediocre graphics.
@OrganicChemist797 Yeah dude, you honestly have to play this game. It trumps Twilight Princess in every way. Including graphics. You can't tell but on the tv screen and in motion its very beautiful. Also, you have to actually play Wind Waker and SkyWard Sword to fall in love with the graphics style. Everyone was hating on WindWaker when it was first announced but when people finally played it everyone completely changed their minds and loved it. Give it a shot man, you wont regret it. I promise.
@alicemadden I have to honestly say I haven't tried it, and if I feel the same way the gamers end up feeling, then I can't say that the graphics really are all that bad, I am going to have to try this and windwaker now and give them a chance haha. After all, I love mario party games which some may consider to be pointless, so maybe I will like it even though I wasn't willing to give it a shot at first :)
well you, and many others may hate me for saying this and call me an untrue zelda fan, but I cannot get past the graphics for this game and windwaker. I like the huge graphic 3d effects they do. While I do think twilight princess was graphically the best, I really didn't like the way they did the boss fights for that game. The bosses were weak, unchallenging, and I really wish they had a difficult level for the game, even though they never have. Classics will always be my fav!
I'm really enjoying this game, especially since this one was actually built for the wii, the game play and control is incredible. Good story line, glorious art, why would I ever have a reason to complain? unless I actually didn't like Legend of zelda, in which case I probably wouldn't be playing it.... Yay skyward sword!! :D

Even though I haven't buckled to the pressure thus far, this new Zelda game has caused me to buy a Nintendo Wii. I know the WiiU is coming soon, but without the ability to play this game, I would be incomplete. And yes I will buy the new Nintendo system (when it comes out), just for the ability to play this game in HD.
i beat this game already...trust me it took a loooong time, cause i played like 10 hours everday. I would give this game a 9.4/10. Personally i love this zelda and its my favorite right now, but for the best zeldas released in THEIR TIME, i would would rank it accordingly
@theralphster No it wll not. A new Zelda game being on the Wii U is more likely. Skyward Sword was designed for the Wii and the Wii only. It utilizes Wii motion plus for 1:1 swordplay and other items revolve around WM+ as well.
To all you who dislike the graphics, these graphics are the best the Wii can do and Nintendo had to decide which would best fit this game. They chose this art-style because
1.The Wii's hardware is limited
2.The graphics actually help you pinpoint the enemies weak spot.
I'm 42 hrs in to Skyward Sword. I think I'm a little less than half way through the main quest, and I can already say that this is without question one of the finest games I have ever had the pleasure of playing. Hell, this might just be my favorite game ever! We'll see how things play out once I'm finished, but I very much doubt this game will falter in any way. Everything from the controls to the game design and even the story have been fantastic. Somehow I think it will get even better.
@levitabusman Just finished the main quest a couple of hours ago actually, and I have to say, I'm pretty blown away. The game is a masterpiece in my opinion and might very well be my new favorite game ever. I really can't fathom how anyone can fault this game. It just absolutely nails everything I've ever loved about gaming. Great story, excellent controls, fantastic game design and perfect pacing. Add to that the beautiful music and visuals, and no one can deny this game's triumph. You? =)

The story really broke me- that mid game sequence with Zelda and Link, you know the one where he runs up the steps banging on her crystal, pretty much broke me emotionally, and the way they ended it was perfect. Just I really think it's a beautiful game and most of all, it's a Love story I just really really really Wished they hugged even though they didn't kiss a hug would have been icing on this perfect cake lol. Legendary addition to the series!

The ending was as good as any I've ever seen. Perfect really, and it even left room for a direct sequel should Nintendo see fit to make one. I for one would jump at the chance to play as this Link again. Perhaps the game could focus on the creation of Hyrule? I can dream, can't I?
@theST1NG I've played the games pretty much from when they first came out too, so followin this series on this epic journey and ending up with this game was what probably made it more emotional for me, but I agree with everything you say, and also to add in a industry that is full of shooters and multiplayer orientated games it's good to see the passion of storytelling and single player emmersive stuff is still being made!
@theST1NG The abundance of fetch quests, mini games, and "not Zelda" stuff in general that was shoved into the main quest in order to artificially extend the play time was a pretty big problem. A great game, still, but that shit annoyed me to no end.
@AntiReviews Well, you're certainly as entitled to your opinion as I am, and in my opinion the fetch quests and mini games were not detractors. Quite the opposite in fact. The fetch quests often times would lead me to parts of the surface I had yet to explore, and I'd find secret areas that I would likely never have known about had the game not pointed me in the right direction. I also found the mini games to be really fun overall, especially the mine cart section. To each his own I say! =)
Looks cool and the graphics kinda remind me of Wind Waker but idk about wii anymore no1 plays it anymore :(. Wii needs some kind of community and an online like ps3 or xbox to stay in the game. pray wii U would have it xD becuase I <3 Nintendo, xbox only has halo and playstation has a few games like Wipeout and stuff but Nintendo has most of my favorite games of all time :D. They should focus on console games, any1 with an ipod won't get a 3ds. Would be cool if nintendo released apps on ipod.

I was reading an xbox magazine just to see what it was like (im a die hard zelda fan) and they decided to review 1 nintendo game, they reviewed windwaker and said it was a horrible 3/10 with shitty controls, story, graphics and gameplay.. WTF XBOX.

@starfoxrocks1 sorry but I have to disagree with you on that one. Twilight Princess was very annoying with the wolf parts, I'll give you that. It was probably trying to do a bit much, but all of the human sequences were amazing. I hated having to play the wolf scenes over again, they're long and feel very repetitive because you're so limited when playing as a wolf. While the gamplay looks good in this game, I will still probably not play it, Cant get past the mediocre graphics.

@OrganicChemist797 Yeah dude, you honestly have to play this game. It trumps Twilight Princess in every way. Including graphics. You can't tell but on the tv screen and in motion its very beautiful. Also, you have to actually play Wind Waker and SkyWard Sword to fall in love with the graphics style. Everyone was hating on WindWaker when it was first announced but when people finally played it everyone completely changed their minds and loved it. Give it a shot man, you wont regret it. I promise.

@alicemadden I have to honestly say I haven't tried it, and if I feel the same way the gamers end up feeling, then I can't say that the graphics really are all that bad, I am going to have to try this and windwaker now and give them a chance haha. After all, I love mario party games which some may consider to be pointless, so maybe I will like it even though I wasn't willing to give it a shot at first :)

well you, and many others may hate me for saying this and call me an untrue zelda fan, but I cannot get past the graphics for this game and windwaker. I like the huge graphic 3d effects they do. While I do think twilight princess was graphically the best, I really didn't like the way they did the boss fights for that game. The bosses were weak, unchallenging, and I really wish they had a difficult level for the game, even though they never have. Classics will always be my fav!

I'm really enjoying this game, especially since this one was actually built for the wii, the game play and control is incredible. Good story line, glorious art, why would I ever have a reason to complain? unless I actually didn't like Legend of zelda, in which case I probably wouldn't be playing it.... Yay skyward sword!! :D

Even though I haven't buckled to the pressure thus far, this new Zelda game has caused me to buy a Nintendo Wii. I know the WiiU is coming soon, but without the ability to play this game, I would be incomplete. And yes I will buy the new Nintendo system (when it comes out), just for the ability to play this game in HD.

i beat this game already...trust me it took a loooong time, cause i played like 10 hours everday. I would give this game a 9.4/10. Personally i love this zelda and its my favorite right now, but for the best zeldas released in THEIR TIME, i would would rank it accordingly

@theralphster No it wll not. A new Zelda game being on the Wii U is more likely. Skyward Sword was designed for the Wii and the Wii only. It utilizes Wii motion plus for 1:1 swordplay and other items revolve around WM+ as well.
To all you who dislike the graphics, these graphics are the best the Wii can do and Nintendo had to decide which would best fit this game. They chose this art-style because
1.The Wii's hardware is limited
2.The graphics actually help you pinpoint the enemies weak spot.

I'm 42 hrs in to Skyward Sword. I think I'm a little less than half way through the main quest, and I can already say that this is without question one of the finest games I have ever had the pleasure of playing. Hell, this might just be my favorite game ever! We'll see how things play out once I'm finished, but I very much doubt this game will falter in any way. Everything from the controls to the game design and even the story have been fantastic. Somehow I think it will get even better.

@levitabusman Just finished the main quest a couple of hours ago actually, and I have to say, I'm pretty blown away. The game is a masterpiece in my opinion and might very well be my new favorite game ever. I really can't fathom how anyone can fault this game. It just absolutely nails everything I've ever loved about gaming. Great story, excellent controls, fantastic game design and perfect pacing. Add to that the beautiful music and visuals, and no one can deny this game's triumph. You? =)

The story really broke me- that mid game sequence with Zelda and Link, you know the one where he runs up the steps banging on her crystal, pretty much broke me emotionally, and the way they ended it was perfect. Just I really think it's a beautiful game and most of all, it's a Love story I just really really really Wished they hugged even though they didn't kiss a hug would have been icing on this perfect cake lol. Legendary addition to the series!

@levitabusman Yeah, I know what you mean. That middle scene was so effective in doing its job. The animation and the music together were just too much for me to handle. I shed at least one manly tear at that point. T_T
The ending was as good as any I've ever seen. Perfect really, and it even left room for a direct sequel should Nintendo see fit to make one. I for one would jump at the chance to play as this Link again. Perhaps the game could focus on the creation of Hyrule? I can dream, can't I?

@theST1NG I've played the games pretty much from when they first came out too, so followin this series on this epic journey and ending up with this game was what probably made it more emotional for me, but I agree with everything you say, and also to add in a industry that is full of shooters and multiplayer orientated games it's good to see the passion of storytelling and single player emmersive stuff is still being made!

@theST1NG The abundance of fetch quests, mini games, and "not Zelda" stuff in general that was shoved into the main quest in order to artificially extend the play time was a pretty big problem. A great game, still, but that shit annoyed me to no end.

@AntiReviews Well, you're certainly as entitled to your opinion as I am, and in my opinion the fetch quests and mini games were not detractors. Quite the opposite in fact. The fetch quests often times would lead me to parts of the surface I had yet to explore, and I'd find secret areas that I would likely never have known about had the game not pointed me in the right direction. I also found the mini games to be really fun overall, especially the mine cart section. To each his own I say! =)

Looks cool and the graphics kinda remind me of Wind Waker but idk about wii anymore no1 plays it anymore :(. Wii needs some kind of community and an online like ps3 or xbox to stay in the game. pray wii U would have it xD becuase I <3 Nintendo, xbox only has halo and playstation has a few games like Wipeout and stuff but Nintendo has most of my favorite games of all time :D. They should focus on console games, any1 with an ipod won't get a 3ds. Would be cool if nintendo released apps on ipod.
