St. Anthony has never let me down. It is amazing how many times he has come through. It is amazing that he died at only 36 years old, and yet lived a life of great travel and preaching to the masses, though he was often sickly in physical health. He was much like our Lord in a number of ways, the age which he died, a life of suffering, and being a man of the people. Because of all this I feel he has a special standing within our Lord's sacred heart.

While in Las Vegas on business, I went from the Las Vegas Convention Center back to my hotel and my phone slipped out of my pocket while riding in the taxi cab. When I got back to my hotel room I realized my phone was missing. I called the cab company but they said they had no lost phone on file. I asked for St. Anthony’s intercession and the following day the cab driver delivered my phone to my hotel room....Thank you St. Anthony.

+ Actually, the Franciscan men that St. Anthony met were the same ones that were martyred. Also, he had never given a sermon before that time that he was asked at the ordination. The priest who was to give the sermon couldn't make it, and none of the other priests wanted to do one off the cuff. He was a man of great meekness, and his knowledge of scripture, conviction to the one true faith and outspokeness was a great surprise to all who heard him speak.
