Well that is how you do it but not to get another IP with DSL-Cable- ect you have a set IP address so that means ur always connected.Oh if u have comcast you can get another IP just leave ur COMPUTER OFF FOR THREE DAYS and it should work.But i just recently downgrade from DSL to 56k b/c ur IP address always change when u logoff and log back in ALWAYS .

You cant choose your internet ip address if you want to be on the internet, its given to you by your service provider through dhcp, and also its a static ip adress so you cant change it you can mask it somehow using routers or other network hardware / hacking software i think
