  • Hey, what can you do? It's not like we had easy alternatives :)

  • They allowed for much bigger files to be put in memory than, say, the 8-bit cartridges allowed, but ours at least would have errors that would pop up at the END of the load time, which could have been like 18 minutes or more, when the thing finally tried to run the program. We thought that it might have been because when we were talking normally and stomping around it would tend to error, so the whole house had to be quiet until it was finished loading. Was an interesting ritual even if untrue.

  • Ours was loaded up on magnetic tape, so you had to hope it loaded right. This was on the Atari 8-bit, so it was fairly close to the arcade, but judging height was still really hard to do and you wound up crashing a lot. Rough game, but still kinda fun.
