There's no replacement for displacement. Wrx is essentially meant to be a rally car, but stupid people buy them for road use and get sad when they find out they have to spend $10,000 on turbo's and exhaust kits to make it a half decent racer. Fords are stock road performance, no arguement.

the falcon 4litre is an awsome engine, it already has great torque output, combine that with some boost and you that will get the falcon out in front everytime. I like all cars, so im not going to bag any of them, but for all people that think little Jap cars are better than everything else on the road, go do your homework. Big cubes + boost = massive torque.

The RB26DET engine can rip any ford falcon engine especialy and ED engine, a SR20DET could. For $3000 you can get a Skylines RB26DET engine from 290hp which is already 70hp more than an ED's hp to over 400hp.

Nope, if it's been looked after it will be fine - stock bottom ends from EB-EL falcons are good for 500rwhp if the turbo setup is up to the task and the tune is good - you will need stiffer valve springs though.

Ford Australia never sold a turbo Falcon until the BA XR6 turbo - I built the motor and fitted the turbo to this car myself. The WRX did have an exhaust and front mount at least just BTW.

Too much grip isn't always good. An AWD/4WD is actually slower when raced against an equivelant RWD. But in the wet the AWD/4WD would win hands down.

Theres generally not as much potential in a 2L 4cyl than a 4L 6 cyl. (Generally - engine styles and such.)

Ask any racer, they will tell you that you're wrong. AWD's are worse in the dry than the equivelant RWD. If you could get a GTR RWD and GTR AWD completely equal in everyway (bar RWD/AWD obviously) the RWD will be faster in the dry but in the wet the AWD will be faster.

You can get a rwd gtr and it is slower than a awd one. cause awd has more grip.The more power that you can put to the ground, the fast the car will be.on a drag strip its because of weight shiting to the rear that the rwd is faster. puts more pounds per square inch of pressure on the tires, increasing the friction coefficient allowing the tires to grip more.

AWD>RWD For examples look up most time attack lap times and the awd unlimited will almost always beat the rwd unlimited

There is no such thing as 'too much grip'. If you have understeer it just means you don't have enough front-end grip compared to the rear.

AWD isn't allowed in F1 and allowed in only some Le Mans classes because it is expensive and an unfair advantage - you'll find that every race car is built right to the extent of the rule book - if they were allowed AWD, rest assured they would have it!
