I felt like the main reasons DA2 totally paled in comparison to DA:O (albeit, it was still an entertaining game and I'm happy I got it) were that: first and most importantly (for me at least) the story was crap compared to to origins, I still remember thinking at the end of DA2 "wait... that was it?" Second: The lack of different areas to explore; either I had worst case of deja vu EVER, or every dungeon was identical. Third: combat was not tactical at all unless you played the hardest settings
You obviously haven't played it on the hardest difficulty setting. Then it is "One click, you die." But honestly I liked the game- they just need better level designers. Or a larger budget for level design. There are maybe 14 total locations for over 100 hours of sidequests. Not feeling that so much.

(and by the way, the wave system is one way of raising your preformense, if all of those enemys where there at once, lowend computers couldn't play the game, and the consol grafics would have to be turned down)

@holmborn In dragon age origins all the side missions or at least most of them felt connected to the main story. And your main goal actually felt important. it was you against a horde of enemy's devouring the world and you set out to rally a force great enough to fight back, a goal that you felt getting closer and closer to with each side quest.

I agree. It's a decent game in its own right, it's just not really Dragon Age. If it had been called Dragon Age: Something Something and treated as a spinoff and not the real sequel, then it wouldn't have received nearly as much flack as it did.
I was pissed when it wasn't a continuation of the main character's story. At least with Mass Effect you carry the same guy through a big campaign.

dragon age 2 is the biggest dissapointment i had in quite a while... for an moment there i though we had another blizzard like company in biowere... i guess i was wrong :(
hope they don't fuck mass effect 3 as they did dragon age 2 O_o

@Alucard9692010 with the way it is going (rumored release of ME3 is end of 2011 it very well might be (I suspect plot will revolve around choosing allies for your war krogan/salarian, geth/quarian and so on.

After watching this for like the third time, i think it's a bit too mean-spirited / cocky. Especially your facial expression ... kind of.
I would have liked it more if you had kept the "serious irony" from the beginning and acted like you were serious throughout the thing.
But that's just my 2 cent.
