  • I think this is a rotary plow situation, fella!

  • My Uncle has the same kind of setup. I heard your plow derail. He uses a bunch of iron weights and 2 engines for the snow. Awesome video... thanks for sharing!

  • thumbs up if you see the creeper face on the left snow bank. at 2:32

  • so reallistic in some ways!!! Have to watch it for a while before reallizing it is a Garden RR...

  • Tracks? What tracks?

  • what scale

  • the plows should be heated, wouldnt that keep you from getting stuck?

  • @rockerzac99 i dont think that would help much exept for melting some snow.

  • you need a snow blowere :)

by the way the 1:1 horn just fitted perfectly

  • Looks like you could do with another unit or two, or even a rotary plough, now that would be fun to watch, good video..

  • LOVE THE MUSIC REALLY A LOT!!!!!!!!!

  • is it g scale or ho scale?

  • OMG!!!!! I TOTALLY WANT ONE!!!!!!

  • Where was the controller standing? nearby I supose

  • there was a train going by blowing a horn?

  • G Scale is waterproof isn't it?

  • at 1:26 your going to need more trains LOL

  • @TrainNThusiast ha ha I get that

  • OMG... I actually thought this was real at first -.-

  • Awsome train and layout. You need a rotary plow for the deep snow. Saw a video from Germany with a G scale rotary plow. Would eat through your deep snow for sure. Thanks for sharing. Art

  • get three big boys and that will do the trick!

  • AWESOME K-5LA!!!!

  • Good Video. G Scale?

  • haha i love model trains and im from IDAHO hahah and no i do not farm potatos

  • Looks like the high seiras during the winter. They really get that kind of snow.

  • can you do this in ho

  • It's kind of sad that the engine couldn't move the snow drift.

  • that horn had perfect timing. brilliant vid and train

  • just like bergensbanen in norway

  • wow, its amazing how much power a little train like that can have....

  • Full speed ahead!

We've got snow that's taller than our engine ahead!

    Those things are waterproof?

I may just build a garden railroad rather than just a table in a room...

  • yea made sure to be waterproof

  • use one of those snow blower types

  • Top Shelf Model Railroading!

  • i kept on saying and prayining youcan do it but in the end it couldnt get through the last strip

  • wow, the horn from the real train fits this perfictly.....LOL

  • A fully functioning rotary plow would be bad ass. If by some miracle this had no chance of harming the locomotive Id use a pair of big boys. that would be even more bad ass.

    Cool video anyways.

  • Back up and push through a little more, just like the real railroads do it. Plow cut looks like a real railroad too.

  • mine will go through that no problem. i got a modified dash-9 with 12 pounds of extra led weights and a bigger motor in it. and if you got hill track then you can go through that snow easy. incase you dont know what hill track is, its just track with a long plastic strip with natches in it. then you get special weels with a third weel in the middel that has more natches in it. you can go up any hill and go through just about anything with it

  • I wonder what kind of damage that kind of moisture would of done to that engine.

  • waterproof

  • You need at least 4 locos to get through that.

  • mor like 2

  • so cool

  • WOW... thats cool.. looks like fun ;;awesome video

  • WOW,,, thats cool looks like fun ,,awesome video;;RAILJG#########

  • Moments later a crackle can be heard from the dispatchers radio: "Dispatch, 2588, We're having difficulties at milepost 25.5.... We're gonna need at least 4 more units,, Over."

    LOL.

  • The camrea fitted to loco shots through the snow drifts looks uncannily like a full-size train - quite uncanny, and absorbing viewing.

    Thanks,

    Cefn Onn

  • That looks really good. I like how at about 1:55 it looks like it is actually real. and about 0:57 when the train starts struggling to plow through? that looks pretty cool too. I'm here in Aus, 16 and have my own little setup going. I think my 422 in freight national or Bicentenery would look really good plaughing through snow. For that matter my 4469 wouldn't look too bad either. Or 4499...

  • just like the real RR, run, ram, backup, repeat,..

  • You need a rotary plow.

  • Fantastic.I love it.Thanks.

  • How many feet of track does this run on? It looks pretty extensive. Cool video!

  • Last snowfall we had in chicago, It took my FA/FB using a wedge snowplow car, my U25B w/ plow, my RS3 w/ plow, my 2 SD45's w/ one plow on the lead unit just to keep up. And we still lost the battle xD Ended up having to just let 6inches drop on me and get out the shovel haha

  • Nice camera work and train layout. I'm really surprised the snow doesn't cause elect. shorts and the train actually stays on the rails through that torture.

  • Hi great video by the way!

  • IM very curious to know weither guys running garden RRs in the snow are using the tracks to power the train or RC with batteries in the loco.

  • great video i love the camera angles and especially when you put it on the train itself , well done

  • Dude u like need 6 trains to plow that with no problem

  • Muy buen video felicitaciones...

  • nice train

  • Just have to love trains & snow. Very nice

  • What a really really sweet video. Many thanks for giving my young son (and me!!) such a treat. 5 stars!!!

  • Im here in Minnesota and we only got a little snow all year...then on Friday, March 21, 2008 we got like 6-8in of new snow, I did the same thing, started plowing with my HO scale, I dont have a garden rr tho. Anyway, Nice Video

  • That's great, I love it! As a 12" scale Railroader I'd say get a rotary, of course I'd say snow-sheds too, but that would take the fun away! Good for you!

  • That's awesome!! I take it as you train is battery powered.

  • Nope, on this run we were track powered.

  • Really, WOW!! Some of my dad's old work buddies have G scale and they use the rechargable batteries, and I have to admit that I am impressed that the train didn't short or anything with all that snow! That's amazing, so how do you keep these engines (their contacts and power pick-up) from being affected by the weather?

  • I just make sure to dry everything off real well when I am done.

  • Cool. Now do you have to worry about the track being clean like HO scale, or is the power pick-up better for G scale? It seems like I am always cleaning tracks and wheels to make sure my trains run well.

  • @gardentrains isn't more harder and expensive to use track power then battery power?

  • There are rails under there?

  • Yep there is rails under there.

  • 1:07 reminds me of the White Pass Yukon Route in Alaska. reminds me of the thick, deep snow, and they had to pull out their old, reliable steam and snow thingy. yep. its beautiful in the snow, isnt it?

  • Great video! I am having a tough time finding a snowplow for my train. Where can I find one of those?

  • Next time when it snows cut the snow like you are cutting a pie into pieces in front of the plow and when you hit it. it should just push the snow out of the way in england we call it like cutting landlord laddies cake

  • I love this video, fantastic, great music aswel, well done.

  • haha wow thats amazing i didnt know they even had such a thing!!!!!

  • yeah, that poor diesel is helped by the plow, but still needs some extra UMPH!!! Really nice Though!!

  • Great vid though. Hoping to get a model of a Steam Rotary Snow Plow for my railway!!!

  • Yep, next time it is three Dash-9's. More power is always good.

  • need more power
