  • If only he ran as fast as a cheetah. :'(

  • And now there's nobody remembers our names. Glory for the ANZAC soldiers

  • 3 dislikes? How dislikes a work of art like this?

  • Such a fantastic movie. You did a great job making this video! You better have gotten an A!

  • @4ever27 : If the British Army lost Gallipoli's battle , it's because Mr Churchill

    was responsible

  • we just defended our lands, what the hell was doing english aussie and new zeland soldiers doing in our lands must ask that,

  • im surprised the yanks havnt tryed to make another bullshit movie and some how claim ww1 as long as ww2 that they won lol

  • This is a great video! GREAT JOB!

  • How many German versions to this conflict are there? The victor always tells the history.

Guess those German young boys were as missed as those British after the war was over. For every German boy that was killed resulted in one devastated German home. Same thing with the French and British, war is ugly. Good thing we today have the EU, so we don’t have to kill each other.

  • @Reingur: There is this little book / film called: All Quiet on the western Front... it's from a German perspective. There are 2 versions (as far as I know) and there should be a 3rd version coming out in 2011 or 2012.

  • @Reingur How about 'All Quiet on the Western Front?' You know, the most famous WW1 piece, told from the perspective of Germans?

  • sent a chill up my spine, A1 vid mate , thanks for posting it.

  • When british win, it is called a Heroic Victory, when British loose it is called a massacre...

    Napoleon can document this.

But anyways nationallity is not important... These mefighted and idead with honor. Yesterday was the day WW1 ended. I gave them a 5 minutes silence honour.

  • why aussies are amde heroes in this movie. stop living the lie. we heard a lot of barbaric acts of aussies against turks and wounded. disgusting. arkadaslar bunlari dost saymayin lutfen. bunlar askerlerimize neler yapti neler. kaptirmayin kendinizi. bu kadar pasif olmayin allah rizasi icin

  • the only real people to blame here are the leaders, the people who fought in the war had nothing to do, so they die for there country. i think its sad,

  • Why went so many people to Gallipoli ( Gelibolu) ? Didn't they know they "ll lose?

Ottoman Empire and Turkey for life ( Ne Mutlu Türküm Diyene)

  • @eddem123 mate sorry to shit on your history book but we won

  • @Henza9218 dude if you want to hear that you have won; YOU WON! But you have to know, that you can't change the past. And if you have won, why is gallipoli and Canakkale now ours?

  • @eddem123 well thats a dumb thing to say germany lost ww2 but they still own germany britain lost to the us in the revoultion but britain is still there but yeah we won and let you have your land

  • god rest the souls of everyone of them and thankyou lemmy killmister for actually doing these boys the credit they deserve .

  • good for year 12

  • I thought Gallipolli took place in 1915

Motorhead's song is more about the battle of Somme in 1916.

  • Wat Program did you use

  • homeland and the nation is an indivisible whole with the turkey.

  • soyunuzu keseriz işte çanakkalede de yaptığımız gibi yeriz adamı.

  • 20th. century

    1915

    World war "Canakkale İmpassable(Gecilmez)"

  • I joined youtube just to comment on this...extremely well done!

  • thanks! pretty sure I got an A... it was five years ago now

  • @4ever27 pretty sure ? wouldn't you remember somrthing like that ?

  • Well done mate, hope you got A+... what grade did you get?

  • Enjoy your lives as they no longer can, look back behind you and spare a momements thought.

    LEST WE FORGET

  • A war against the Turks was probably not the smartest thing what they could do. They didn't expect what was going to happen. After this all, everybody hates Turks because they are undefeatable.

  • Gallipoli the birth of modern Australia. Shame on B casually spending Anzac lives. Gallipoli was audacious and although a tactical failure taught much. In particular the military brilliance of the Australian General Sir John Manish emerged. It was he who was the prime architect of modern war as fought later at the Battle of Amiens Aug 1918. A war winning battle, bringing mobility back to battlefield that the machine had taken away so that infantry, artillery, tanks, air all worked together

  • Wow man, Motorhead and this video has done so much justice for EVERYONE who fought in WW1. British, Australians, Turks, French, Germans, Austrians, Italians, Russians and anyone and everyone who I haven't mentioned because lets face it, there's far too many. And that's my point, there were FAR too many. RIP to all those who fought and died for nothing except each other.

  • Why does everyone go on about the british using the ANZAC's as 'cannon fodder'. People, they did worse to their own troops. The British suffered 60,000 casulties in one day. They even executed their own men for being 'cowards', even though most of them probably had shellshock.

So people, stop whinging about it please. You need to look at it from both sides. A lot of generals just didn't care for human lives, and that is it.

  • Poms are just pricks all round!! We're not whinging, we're just trying to make sure these f**kers dont do it again!

  • yes ,,you are right the soldiers were sent to their death by officers and generals who werent men enough to save their soldiers lives but quiet stupid enough to send them day after day to certain death,,in one instance a turkish officer contacted the british officer to not send any more of his men over the top as the slaughter was just too easy ,the british officer declined and sent another wave to their deaths,,sickening

  • Who wernt man enough to fight but thought they were man enough to order

  • Comment removed

  • the without permission They came, new zellan the people ,The permission didn't want.Turk love the guests .but,It* does not love the entrances the without permission..england,italia,france, armenia, new zellan,They took good lesson the people.çanakkale impassable, indivisible homeland. You must not forget

  • Unfair to Aussies and NZACS. War is so fukcin' pointless. Motorhead is always good , Lemmy is brilliant like Fish. I don't believe in war anyhow. A good old punch up or chess game is the way to go now.

  • fuckin pompus pomy prick killing the aussies i hope he fuckin got shot

  • it was an Australian that orderd the charge, and kept it going as well after it was seen to be pointless.

  • fucking brittish, sacrificed thousands of Australian and New Zealand men for diversion"...

what i cant work out is, why were they told to unload their rifles, they would have had a much larger chance of taking the trench

  • loltool

  • to all those past and present R I P

    5*

  • Sgt Bob hill British yeomanry came home from Gallipoli and killed his lungs at the coal face .Homes fit for heros

  • Those heroes that shed their blood and lost their lives. You are now lying in the soil of a friendly country therefore rest in peace.

There is no difference between the Johnnies and the Mehmets to us where they lie side by side here in this country of ours.

You, the mothers Who sent their sons from far away countries wipe away your tears;your sons are now lying in our bosom and are in peace after having lost their lives on this land they have become our sons as well.

    (Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk)

  • Well said Ataturk.

  • Gallipoli was a blunder of the highest order. Many brave men died. Turks, Australians, New Zealanders, Scotsmen, Irishmen, Englishmen, Frenchmen...their nationality is not so important now. They all sleep together now, in peace and quiet above the beaches, cliffs and trenches they died over.

Marking one of many places where a generation was led to the slaughter.

  • many people forget the greeks that fought along with the aussies against the turks

    lest we forget

  • @BullRun1861

Blame Churchill. He was responsible for the failed operation in Gallipolli.

Btw, World War One was such a costly war it sent shockwaves into the entire 20'th century. The Spanish disease, the Versailles peace, the depression of the 1930's (due to reckless economics and optimist in the roaring 20's after surviving the long war), world war two. No, I won't go on. Too depressing.

  • @McLarenMercedes hhmmm sounds like today who says history doesn't repeat it self.

  • Good job. My Great Uncle was in the Guards Division at the Somme. What a nightmare.

  • General Sir Douglas Haig, murderous butcher extraordinaire of a whole generation of brave young men.

After 1917 they stopped sending him extra reinforcements for fear he'd get them all killed.

  • Ataturk: Canakkale is IMPASSABLE!!!

  • The whole peninsula is largely impassable. Picture a group of ants trying to scale the sides of a salad bowl when you have a person up to spraying water down on them the whole time, and you start to see what the Allies were up against. Substitute men for ants, a beach surrounded by steep cliffs for the salad bowl, and machine guns and rifles for the water. Perfect recipe for a massacre.

  • My uncle died at Gallipoli. Fifth Battalion The Connaught Rangers; the British were there too.

  • They want to pass, din't pass, will not pass

  • A good effort poignant music to a tragic campaign, Poorly planned, even more poorly executed and led by incompetence.

The Turks were a formidale force fighting for their homeland May all who died 100,000+ R.I.P

  • The Allied troops, brave as they were, were doomed from the word "go." The terrain at Gallipoli favored the defenders overwhelmingly. Add to that tough, Turkish troops defending their homeland and it was a loosing proposition. One of Winston Churchill's blackest moments, one that nearly finished him.

  • Lest We Forget. Great video. Too bad all these young idiots now in days know all the lyrics to 50 Cent's songs but they have no idea about the millions who died in WWI, if they even know there was a World War One.

  • Damn right, netwolf! :) It's such a shame everybody is joking about war. Morons in my class haven't got any idea of how very horrific WW1, WW2 was.

  • I hate those wankers as well idiots who think their yanks or tough because their getto. The men who served us and New Zealand were tough and brave. The regret I have is my Pop died before I could thank him for protecting us in teh 2nd World War. Gallipoli and Kokoda are the greatest war movies I have ever seen I hope those who died are proud of what has become of our Nations and that we are half then men they were.

  • What's the name of this movie??

  • gallipoli peter weir-great movie!

  • Best war themed film ever made

    Classic

  • this makes me cry.. awesome video

  • fuck you i wish i could take my dad's sword and cut ur guysis throats with one swift swipe..... of my dick

  • nice song, and well matched with the movie.

  • Now if he could have run as fast as a cheetah he might have made it

  • Hoah that

  • Gallipoli Battle was April 1915 at Junuary 1916.
