#1...as a CO, you NEVER have your back to an inmate. All the CO's were hanging around the desk instead of MONITORING the inmate traffic in that hallway.
#2...Please remember who you're dealing with. These are people, yes, but almost all of them have conclusively demonstrated that their level of "humanity" is subject to change. Be courteous, be professional, and be prepared to smash an inmate's head in, when he comes after you.
@loerdpan1 This facility is a level 2 it's in Michigan. Most inmates even at level 4's are free to be out. In fact the level 2's have keys to their rooms. The public has no idea what goes on inside. This is not normal activity right around the 40 sec mark they start grouping up, that's not allowed but the inmates planned this attack.

I have worked in both state prisons and county jails, I have known female officers that I trusted and could depend on more than some males. I belive if you can do the job it does not matter your sex. As far as a comment I saw about women being 'gamed' male staff get gamed as much or more than females. If they knew something was going to happen they should not have let the inmates group around the staff like they did.
I've been on the job 4 years. No worries, cameras don't reach everywhere. I'm sure those idiots realized that it was a bad choice putting their hands on staff!

They were getting ready. I have worked corrections for about 5 years. The response in this video was amazing. We can't be perpared 24/7 like you'd ex[ect us to be. We have to "suit up" it takes time. The fact that this was resolved and deescalated within 1 minute is amazing. No one was hurt in this incident. This is an outstanding performance. this is ojibway in michigan its a lvl 1 and lvl 2 i actually work with one of the guys in the video and i was told they knew this was going to pop off just didnt know when this was supposed to be a demonstration of the so called power of whatever group of inmates this was supposed to be i do not remember what group but anyway i work in a maximum security facility with women who are very good at their job and on out extraction team and can be on our ERT i beleive if they want
its interesting that there are certain areas in prisons where surveillance cameras are conveniently not present, so you know that the prison guards involved will get their revenge. My friends dad was a peace officer. He told me that a lot of inmate related deaths are not inflicted by other inmates. that only leaves one other source.

I have responded to All fights! cell extractions, and have almost gotten stabbed because my male officer said later that he didnt want to touch the inmate cuz hed get sued. Dont get me wrong my boys are always there for me and sometimes do it for me, but when asked who they want to back them up.. its me. beefy men that talk shit until an inmate throttles them.

its interesting that there are certain areas in prisons where surveillance cameras are conveniently not present, so you know that the prison guards involved will get their revenge. My friends dad was a peace officer. He told me that a lot of inmate related deaths are not inflicted by other inmates. that only leaves one other source.

Women can do whatever they want to now days but when you decide to be a correctional officer in a mans prison you better be prepared to be treated just like a male correctional officer. When shit jumps off and the inmates start assaulting the correctional officers, be prepared to get beat the fuck down by the inmates and don't think they are gonna show you any mercy when they attack your ass. Her nose almost completley fell off.If your in Corrections for a power trip, your going to get fucked up. 75% of all cases between Inmates and C/O's are Female C/O related. Recently talked to a guy from Ojibway and he stated that the administration not only knew of this happening HOURS before it kicked off but they never took action UNTIL the inmates felt nice and strong. Look how quickly ERT shows up fully dressed out! Wake up people!! Don't kid yourself that the NOI wasn't involved in the leadership of this failed little riot. WOMEN really don't belong inside the prisons and neither do 30% or more cowardly men.

1. sudden mob of Inmates just standing there
2. angry loud mouth inmate going off
3. Other inmates running to their cells.
4. Officers acting like it was ok, even hanging by the stairs, instead of giving orders to disperse.

I am a good sized female ,i work out and have done this for 5 years. I have responded to All fights! cell extractions, and have almost gotten stabbed because my male officer said later that he didnt want to touch the inmate cuz hed get sued. I have more balls than alot of the men.. Dont get me wrong my boys are always there for me and sometimes do it for me, but when asked who they want to back them up.. its me. beefy men that talk shit until an inmate throttles them.
