we are not talking about satan here, we are talking about a mansion with 999(do not complain about the number that resembles the 666) ''HAPPY'' HAUNTS.

anyway sorry for my english, i'm italian.

  • Is this from one of the Disney Treasures DVD? Where did you get the video from?

  • Hey, I always wondered where you get these vids? Where did you get em'

  • I hope to one day meet Walt DIsney in Heaven.

  • He always gets confused! "What do we call it? House of illusions? - Marc: Tha Haunted Mansion... Then with crump, he does it again! He was such a great person.

  • Oh, I love Walt so much! He's just one of the most amazing, and kind, and wonderful people in the history of the world, I think! Can anyone imagine how the world would be now without Disney? Everything would be completely different! He made so much progress, you can hardly even take it all in!

  • @AmericanMega Well, I feel truly sorry for you that you are unable to see the magic that Disney brought to the world. It is your loss, and your loss alone.

  • @LemurCreature Don't feel sorry for me. I am informed and you are the fool. Keep beleaving in the liberal madia lies and being a fool and I will keep on fighting for the true patriots in this country and tekking the truth.

  • @LemurCreature ...and can you imagine how different Disney would be today if he hadn't died when he did?

  • I honestly did not know the Mansion was that far along when Walt was still alive.

  • LOL Walt Was soooo funny... we better get out of here... i think we are being watched

  • It's amazing to hear Mr. Disney say "The Haunted Mansion."

  • "Well they have all kinda ghosts y'know..."

I love how you dont even need to see him, but you can tell Walt is smiling when he says that =)

  • omg i'm so stressed lately with college work but i love disneyland and Walt Disney's voice is both smooth and warm, just LISTENING to him makes me relieve stress!!!

  • haha at 1:14 "oh my!"

  • Thanks for posting this. I love the old Disneyland TV shows, pre-Eisner, of course.

  • THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR POSTING THIS!!!! :D This as well as Pirates of the Caribbean are two of Uncle Walt's greatest attractions.:)

  • Is that a riding crop that Miss Rheim is carrying?! (must not think dirty thoughts)

  • lol, yeah it is

  • look at the pictures above there head at 0:50, it looks like Walle, LOL

  • It does.

  • Holy crap! Did Walt have something to do with a movie that would come out forty years later? JK. Some what LOL

  • Haha, that was a concept series of paintings that showed a man's eyeballs growing bigger and bigger until they became a singular eye. Never made it to the Mansion but wow it sure does look like Wall-E! LOL

  • really does, makes you wonder.

  • i saw it too (:

i believe they were stretching human eyes, though I am not entirely sure.

  • i wish i could tell rolly crump that i really want to bring back knott's bear-y tales in the future at disneyland.cause i want to become an imageneer and bring it back and come up with refurbishments to most rides.

  • rolly crump the best designer and marc davis!i wish rolly crump would see my bear-y tales ridethrough.rolly crump created knott's bear-y tales.

  • Look at Walt at 1:35. He rolled his eyes in a sarcastic way!!!

  • We've been holding back and saving our Haunted Mansion coverage! So far, we've covered Expedition Everest and POTC on PipersPicksTV - but HM certainly is on the books!

  • It's great to see what made it in and what didn't. They have a gypsy cart, but it just sells souvenirs. =(

  • Walt's taking pictures. She's got the riding crop. They seem excited. OK then.

  • LOL!!

  • wow i havent seen this footage forever! did you get it from doombuggies??

  • wow so originally the portrait of the man on the dynamite in the backround where the two sinister portraits are at the backround.he had big popping eyes originally.

  • A lot of the subtleties in the stretching portraits have been unfortunately lost over the years. The original paintings wore down with all the stress of the stretching room pulling and rubbing on them all the time. They have to be replaced by copies (sometimes much poorer quality copies) every few years after they fade. So it's more than possible that Davis' original work has a far greater level of detail than what you might see today.

  • i know cause i wondered what happended to original paintings at disneyland.now they look like disney world`s art.

  • i see 2 of the sinister 11 portraits.

  • Where could I find the entire footage of this? I like it.

  • stargate121--

They have updated the bride in the mansion at Disneyland, as well as some of the effects.

And its possible that more updates are along the way.

  • i know, its just awesome!!!!

  • ooooohhhh. scaryyy!

  • i got pretty freaked out when i saw this as a kid,but i think it's suppose to feak kids out not that much adults. but this was a new things so maybe some adults would be surprised

  • why is she walking around with a horse whip?.

  • I wonder what happened to the "House of the Weird"? We used to visit Anaheim Disneyland yearly in the late 60s and 70s but I don't recall ever seeing anything like that. Was it in Florida?

  • It was never built. But I think that some of the "weird" items were placed as props in a restaurant...

  • and the wagon designed for the weird museum is now a Madame Leota Wagon outside the Haunted Mansion in WDW.

It is the same design but it sells HM stuff and NBC stuff

  • I'll tell you what...It'd be pretty cool and freaky if they added that melted candleman to the ride.

  • LOVE MARC DAVIS, the designer of the Haunted Mansion!! Check out my channel for more great Disney videos!

  • Great video, I love the Haunted Mansion.

And for those debating. Walt supervised both attractions, Pirates of the Caribbean was the only one he saw completed. The Mansion opened after he died, but it was his idea and he did have a hand in designing and concept work.

  • Actually Walt never saw the actual opening of Pirates of the Caribbean. He died December 15th 1966 and Pirates opened March 18 1967.

  • Those last few seconds were the exact words from a CD I bought, not exactly what I was hoping for but the first track shows that it was for a radio program years ago.

  • I looove the Haunted Mansion. Its in my top 3 favorite Disneyland rides. Its so great to see it in the development, and with Walt himself....thanks so much for uploading.

  • wow, I didn't know they had that much done while Walt was alive. I know they were planning it when he was still there but I thought he died before they got that far. Excellent video

  • He did die in 1969. His last idea was Pirates of the Carribean.

  • I thought he died in 66. But that's not the point. In this video, he was obviously still alive when they were working on Haunted Mansion. He died before they finished, but they aparantly had more drawn out then I thought before he died

  • No, Walt died in 1966, and both Pirates and the Mansion were his idea. Only, Walt saw Pirates copleted, He died before the Mansion was completed. It finaly opened Aug of 1969. Just a bit of Disneyland trivia

  • Now I know there's alot in there that's wrong. I watched a program and it said that it was Pirates of the Carribean that Walt supervized before his death.

  • Walt died in 1966, I thoght Pirates opened in '66, I was wrong. It opened in '67. But he did supervise both attractions.
