  • @7979angang there is nothing offensive about this song, if your friend dedicated this song to you he or she might have very strong feelings for you.

  • @7979angang Definitely a love song. The door is wide open for you. *hint hint*

  • @7979angang Definitely a love song. The door is wide open for you. *hint hint*

  • @7979angang yea dis a good song

  • @7979angang stop overthinking thing this is called "good music" what could possibly be offensive about the stairway of heaven use your brain

  • @7979angang You can take it offensively (I doubt your friend meant it offensively though), seeing as it's a song about going to heaven (as in dying) together. Sounds like a suicide pact or suicide-homicide thing.... Hmm.

  • @7979angang He is just saying they are going to be there with you through thick or thin and you both are going to grow old together and live out your days and you will both learn life lessons together... a good thing... this one can be taken either way, freind or love... why would you ask your freind to get a song for your relationship then get confused about what he chooses? Just means he wants you around to be his freind the rest of his life and you can grow old together, nothing more...

  • @7979angang Sweetheart!! If if make you FEEL GOOD listening/hearing these harmonic voice & real music.. why over-think it?! Just close your eyes and don't THINK - just FEEL THE MUSIC DAWLIN!

  • @7979angang...It's Love Song...You should be happy.

  • @7979angang - This is one of the greatest Love Songs Ever made .. Its about a couple Merging together as one person .. They are not having sex with each other - They are making Love - Not A couple -- But Twin Flames / Soul mates which have atlast found each other in a world of billions ..

    lol...i just love em......

  • God bless em! Still going strong

  • good music man ...

  • Step by step, they went through a lot but they found the palace treasure...and when you finally see it you will realize everything before was nothing but a facade, you may think making love, fucking or whatever is what it is all about but its not, just a beginning to much more...

  • @VercingetorixXIII I agree. My understanding from this song that they find bliss & happiness w/each other. Eternal sunshine & completion.

  • No one can ever understand it until they get weak and feeble, then they will truly cry and hold onto what they have... no one wants to go, so whatever you have, keep it close, but you wont get the true meaning of it until you are about to die... we all get there one day...

  • When you see old men and ladies, respect them, they already climbed up and down that ladder and they are on the way up for the final time, no hatred left in them anymore, no more grudges, they figured it all out and cling to each other now... thats the stairway to heaven...

  • I sometimes will see old men taking their little ladies to the hairdresser, they drive them up and come open the car door for them and hold their hand and walk them to the door, they walk them up very slowly making sure the lady dont stumble although they are barely making it themselves, then they wait in the car until their hair is done, they wait very patiently, is this the stairway to heaven? Sick as it sounds, I think it is...

  • @VercingetorixXIII Im sure that, I know that when they get their lady back they look at her and say oh, you are beautiful, even if in younger peoples eyes they look old and ugly, that man still sees his wifes beauty when she was young, that keeps them both going, seing each other as they used to be, Im making myself cry now but remember Vercingetorix said it befor you knew... it could ever be like this...

  • @VercingetorixXIII WOW THATS GOOD

  • @juliuskev Thank you, its true... its the road to ectsasy unseeable and invisible until you either get there yourself or see it in someone else... you must have saw or experienced it yourself...

  • @VercingetorixXIII what you articulated right here, is beautiful. im 20 and ive always wondered how my parents stood together through thick and thin and now i know. thanks much appreciated.

  • @lorenzoalvarez01 Thank you, I tried to say it how it is when you are so lucky to find someone you can climb a stairway and learning through life with... dont settle for any less than that...

  • 2:24 step by step

  • All I can say is the memories of yester year. The fun we had and this song I tell you was one that just sits in my memory bank. My family, those who loved this song so much back then are long gone but my memory will be until I leave here. LIfe was so much fun then. Thank you for posting.

  • Quite simply, this is a classic example of absolutely priceless "Old-School" soul! My High School & College years were the 70's.......and it's music JUST LIKE THIS that sweeten those memories that much more!

  • Dedicated to my partner Lee Lemons

  • > MASTERPIECE FOR YESTERDAY > TODAY & FOREVER > POWERFUL WORDS OF LOVE > PEACE <

  • I remember slow dancing to this song at many house parties, back in DA DAY!!

  • love this song it is so sensual, so meaningful, and so deep.

  • this-ishotttttttttttttttttttttttttttttt

  • agree

  • Might be an awesome song but those outfits around about the 2 min mark are friggin' hilarious. The dude on the left is digging it, the guy in the middle is unsure and the guy on the right just knows they all look like jackasses, heh.

  • If you've ever been in love this song is what made feel as if you were being taken to heaven with you lover.

  • Heavenly!

  • memories for generations my parents-my husband's and mine, Thank You O'Jays you have brought many years of happiness to so many......Gwendolyn Barner of Rome Ga.

  • They along with others of there era. Made real music built from the ground up, NO SAMPLES Please bring sum real music back

  • They don't write like this any more; that's the bad news. the good news is some of the attire has gone out of fashion as well.

  • It's practically inconceivable to think of three individuals to possess the talent to CONSISTANTLY "blow you away", musically, as the O'Jays have done for 5 DECADES now! Eddie Levert & Walter Williams have been the foundation of something truly special for such a long period of time......I simply can't adequately express how much I love, appreciate & RESPECT their contributions to the world of entertainment. God has truly blessed these men......abundantly!

  • Amazing.

    Your very welcome. Be Bless

  • i'm feeling you i'm loving the same

  • @FuchiMunchie we are all gonna walkthgis road someday, hopefull you will see him.

  • @walker5366 key words there, we all walk this road oneday and find the palace treasure, just means you go through life and gain wisdom together,(for the dummies, the palace treasure is wisdom or love, whatever you get so lucky to gain) and climb the stairway to heaven together... I cant see how anyone would or could get offended at this if a freind, lover sister or brother dedicated it to them... Im rather offended that they were offended... but I remind myself, probobly not too bright...

  • aliquppawill, who ever you are I toally agree with on this coment about the o'jays they the icon's of music .....

  • I thought it was going to be a Led Zep cover

  • really can't say anything but lord have mercy.this is a wonderful song.

  • Thats that real music right there....

    Look up "Smiling Faces"

  • the ojays are sexy and the brothers can step.

  • Has there ever been a more appropriately titled song? At the age of 53, let me just say that I've been lovin' & appreciating the O'jays since........FOREVER! Eddie Levert & Walter Williams represent the purest meaning of the Term "Musical Icons". They've given the music world SO much, for SO long, the greatness of their contributions couldn't possibly be overlooked. And they're STILL doing it!

  • we had this song for our fist dance at our wedding and i am 29 and my husband is 33

  • Oldies is the true music.

  • I NEED A DRINK

  • this brings back so many memories of my childhood in D.C.. them days were magical.

  • Lord have Mercy. Such good music and i guess they stayed together way longer than the Tempts.....who were my favorite.

  • This is MUSIC!!!!!!!! I guess I consider myself an old-soul like you guyz (I'm 30).. I've been listening to oldies since as long as I can remember!!! Real talk!!! A lil Tyron Davis, Gwen McCrae, George McCrae, KoKo Taylor, Millie Jackson, Marvin Sease, Johnny Taylor, Denise LaSalle, BB King, Bobby Bland, Peggy Scott-Adam, Dedra Farr, Lynn White, Otis, Al and some others. My CD case is filled with them...

  • i been jammin to oldies since 1990, thanxgivin that year was the first time i heard my first oldie im 22 now.. ooohh they always bring back family memories.. u kno.. food in the air and singn while u cleaning lol

  • Hey, why fight good music is good music if it was made 10000BC or 10000AD, just enjoy it.

  • yyyeeeaaa!

  • I am from brazil and likes motown and phillly sound and this music is amazing,so the o jays is not popular in brazil that marvin,temps.....

  • hey ahhyo, quite honestly you sound pretty ridiculous. I'm 21 years old and I was raised on this type of music from my parents generation and I love every bit of it. I feel like music today doesn't even hold a candle to some of the greats like The Temptations, The Manhattas, and The O'Jays- just to name a few. Instead of saying that we need to stop frontin like we know grown folk music, how about you appreciate the fact that we know truly great music.

  • brings back memories brown ford parked

    at the beach at night

  • Mmmm...this is the kind of music that gets the sexes in so much trouble. Lol! Love it and miss what it is capable of doing to the spirit of romance. Love it soooo much. Go head on, O'Jays!!!

  • @Cezanne You know what you talkin bout man, some of these young folk don't know bout good love making music.

  • @bullabelly im 17 i kno bout good music lol i personallly like old school better because it has a meaning to it

  • @bullabelly mmmmmm......yes indeed this is the music that keeps u believing in love

  • @bullabelly This is more than just love making music, its about life and where we all end up, calling it just love making music, you missed so much of what it says, yeh you can get your nut off but think, think, use that little mind you have if you can...

  • @Cezanne .....straight talk..........Ooh so real, after its all said and done.the spirit of

the word...........that word romance will never die, taste it ,feel it......love is indeed

    sooooo good.

  • @Cezanne isn't that the truth

  • @Cezanne Yeh but where does that trouble lead to? Both confused, hating each other but loving each other at the same time, trying to climb the stairway to heaven again but never can... Sad ass shit...

  • Yo! Check this out, I like how some people (kids) think they enjoy/love/relate to some music that their too young or better yet before there time. In other words, just because your family or the movie(s) you've seen, doesn't mean that you have to emulate and relate to it. This is grown folk music, so quit frontin' like you old school. One more thing, I don't care about this up/down thumbs rating, you can take that thumb and shove it up your ass for all I care.

  • Ummmm, no disrespect but whether we like old school or not how is it negatively affecting your life?...if we love old school, we just love old school, we dont complain when "grown folk" jam to new school music....it shouldnt matter about music either way tho....people have choices...

  • The beautiful thing about music.... and I mean good music... is that wether it's "old school" or "new school" is that it has no boundaries. Good music hits the spot for everyone... I'm 25 and I'll be damn if anyone is gonna tell me I cant listen to music from the 50's, 60's, or 70's--- cuz that's when music was MUSIC. Just b/c I wasn't around to enjoy it then doesn't mean I can't love it now.

  • And further more, these artists probably appreciate the fact that people today still want to enjoy/love/relate to their music, especially when its timeless. If you were such an adult, you would be pleased to share this "grown folk music" with everyone.... why you ask.... because it's good music and the messages transcend the ages. GET A GRIP.
