GM Ben was great martial artist, but was also a great man. A very humble man with extreme confidence. When he spoke, you just had to listen or you'd miss the mastery of the man. I'm very honored to have met GM Ben on several occasions, and will definitely miss him.

Yes he was, an Escrimador who innovated the art, there are schools that implemented this drills and progressions of the Largusa-Villabrille into their training methods. That is and example of how much GM Ben has influenced the FMA world.

Also, my understanding is when he broke into the Martial Arts scene hardly anyone knew what KALI was, that term should be a pattoned name by him...
