Most of those people that are on your friends list on Face Book and My space you barely even really talk too. In actuality you might only talk to 3 to 7 people at the most that is on your Face Book or My space. The only reason people accept all of those people on Face Book and My space as friends is because they want people to think that they are really liked and that they are cool because they have a lot of friends. When half of those people on their page really don't even like them.
You will find the same problem at MySpace. I am almost to 5000 on Facebook too. But it was the reason I left MySpace last year. When you get to 5000 on MySpace, you lose the ability to sort your friends. In other words, if you want to find someone, you have to look through the entire list. You are not able to do it alphabetically either. I sure wish Facebook would lift the ban. It really doesn't make much sense - esp for those of us who try to keep up with people internationally through FB.
i only have like 170 cuz i only add people i know or people that are friends with my friends :P So doesnt matter to me. Although i got a dumb warning message for apparently adding to many friends at once. False and shallow interactions will harness a shallow self esteem. FB is not overly healthy, however in of itself not an entirely bad thing. If your self esteem is so low that random internet people reaffirm you, then it is VERY unhealthy and you need to re-evaluate yourself and how you go about defining and reaffirming yourself as a person.

Most of those people that are on your friends list on Face Book and My space you barely even really talk too. In actuality you might only talk to 3 to 7 people at the most that is on your Face Book or My space. The only reason people accept all of those people on Face Book and My space as friends is because they want people to think that they are really liked and that they are cool because they have a lot of friends. When half of those people on their page really don't even like them.

You will find the same problem at MySpace. I am almost to 5000 on Facebook too. But it was the reason I left MySpace last year. When you get to 5000 on MySpace, you lose the ability to sort your friends. In other words, if you want to find someone, you have to look through the entire list. You are not able to do it alphabetically either. I sure wish Facebook would lift the ban. It really doesn't make much sense - esp for those of us who try to keep up with people internationally through FB.

Although i got a dumb warning message for apparently adding to many friends at once. It said if i kept it up it would temorarely ban me or perminatly so how long do i have to stop till i can add again? I think it was dumb!

False and shallow interactions will harness a shallow self esteem. FB is not overly healthy, however in of itself not an entirely bad thing. If your self esteem is so low that random internet people reaffirm you, then it is VERY unhealthy and you need to re-evaluate yourself and how you go about defining and reaffirming yourself as a person.

If your into viral and underground adverts then feel free and more power to you, make your money. However, thats about 1%-10% of the people (I have no idea, sounds reasonable) another 5% are people trying to keep up with good friends out of state etc, the rest have small (very) to sever emotional issues from this generation.
