  • wheres the rest of the episode?

  • I caught a spider with fangs once my sister freaked out and made me release it far away from our campsite. I let it go in the bushes when I went with our dad to get some water.

  • i remember this episode, one of the first i saw

  • spiders..... NEVER say that word!

    *shudders*

ps NEVR NEVER NEVER SAY SPIDERS!!!!!!!

    thank you. :)

  • i have a fear or spiders, bees/wasps, sharks, and i HATE snakes i get chills and i cant look at them or i start to feel sick

  • @tedybairlover I am the same way, but mostly for snakes but there is no venomous animals where I live thankfully

  • @tedybairlover I just get the chills when I look at snakes, sharks and spiders.

  • When I was little I was running around in my back yard (We lived near a forest so there were lot's of bugs) and my mom had told me to put my shoes on... I didn't listen as I was coming back in I stepped in a GIANT bee. I think it was a bumble bee or a wasp but i still go outside bare foot. Plus I hate wearing shoes.

  • @jay127719 I don't like wearing shoes either. I live in the suburbs of Charlotte, NC. I never stepped on a bug.

  • Black Widow that's A Deadly spider ?

  • I wonder why she wasn't wearing shoes

  • omfg its like a freaking horror movie

  • even if she wasnt allergic to the black widow she still would die from the posion they have

  • Man that would suck being bite and dying when noone was there. I would be mortifyed.

  • i hATE any tipe of bug

  • OMG! This is like my worst fear ever!! I HATE Spiders! I would rather get a freaking shot then see a spider!

  • This is one of the few episodes I remember from when I was a child (used to watch the show with my dad). I never go into a 'suspicious' place with no shoes on, I thought that was something I had out of instinct or logic, or something but maybe it's because of this cuz I was kinda young when I watched and now, 24, still remember even the lady's face

  • @hazyeyes44 I'm not allergic to any of them. If I was, it would be serious.

  • I didn't know you could develop allergic reactions to bites at an elderly age like Danielle did.

  • i didnt know you could get black widows in america, wow

  • This is why you should never walk around outside barefoot...

  • I know but being barefoot is what I love to do. I'll be careful when I do it going outside.

  • @archiecook55 I do it sometimes. I did it a while ago as I took out the trash and recycling.

  • The Emergency Physician we worked w/ last summer must have been on an intern, b/c he had the most up to the minute knowledge and details of every different spider bite you could get.

And he was so good at describing the various symptoms of each type of spider that I still haven't forgotten the details.

  • I remember this one too. Where are the links to vote? I can not find the links anywhere.

  • 1 spider watched this video

  • I don't get it, some spiders are scared of people and people are scared of spiders, it's very confusing.

  • I never been bittin by a spider or never been stung by a bee for 21 years and i plan to keep it that way.

  • ew i hate spider it give me the hibby jibby

  • i am very strange when it comes to spiders. if i see one, big or small (but especially big), i scream and make a fuss but even tho i hate them with a passion i refuse to kill them. i catch them in containers and set them free...then i spend the rest of the day shivering and scratching

  • my sister is a big fat spider ... no one likes her :)

  • if yall put a spider on me ill be screaming really hard

  • i hate spiders.

  • I hate spiders so much, They make shivers go up my back

  • insects that freak me out

    5: grasshoppers

    4:spiders

    3:bees

    2:wasps

    and #1 is......hornets

  • @boyaka619ify spiders arent insects.....

  • @boyaka619ify Spiders are not insects

  • @boyaka619ify For me it's bees, wasps, horners and spiders. I got stung by a yellow jacket earlier this year, and i ended up getting a skin infection called cellulitis. I had to go on antibiotics and was pretty much grounded to a couch for a week.

  • I imagined a black widow spider bite me on my middle finger of my left hand, but I just felt a little dizzy. If I was allergic to anything that bites, it would be serious.

  • why did she dip her feet in the water first

  • Never handle stuff that was in a shed without gloves and proper footwear.

  • I'm not afraid of spiders, but my older sister is!

  • brrrr!!!!!!Spiders!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • i hate every insects and spiders and wasps.

  • omg , me too

  • Little b*****d spider! >=-[

  • strange looking bugs that fly in from the desert...

  • I was watching this with my feet on the ground...i got to when she was about to pass out...then i took MY feet off the ground and put them on the chair

  • @ilovejustinbiebe1180 lol, me too! spiders just creep me out.

  • The good thing about a spider bite is that the symptoms are different for each spider species.

  • thats why you dont piss of spiders.

  • NO SHIT! I saw a Black Widow in my attic, and I'm scared 2 go bak up there.

  • Had trouble watching this one. I hate spiders

  • This lady is just like my wife; going outside barefooted. Always wear good footwear in climates like Nevada & Florida cause there are alot of ants & bugs outside.

  • You know, I was bitten by a spider once I was in 4th grade. It felt like a needle was poking my index finger. I didn't pass out or anything. I can't remember at the top of my head what kind of spider it was that bit me though.

  • I'd love to see the orriginal Cbs Version of this segment!

  • hello,

I'm officer Fartwall to night we're going to talk about bla bla bla bla .......

  • I often wondered as to how it was that she didn't feel it?

  • did you see when she looked at her foot? I bet she looked because she felt something.

  • this is why i do not like the spiders

  • same here

  • @shadddey5 there are only two species of spiders in the USA that are poisonous. and they're only found in certain areas.. I'm from NJ and have never encountered either species. nowadays, the black widow has sort of been "Declassified" if you will as to just how deadly it is. At one point bites used to be fatal, because black widows used to frequent outhouses, and the bites would occur on sensitive areas of the body. if you get tagged on the arm or the hand by one, you'll survive.

  • @WPUpioneer I'm an EMT in Texas and I can assure that the black widow spider is still very active and very dangerous. I treated a gentleman once who had been bitten six times while sleeping on his couch. Turns out that a black widow (latrodectus mactan) had built a nest in the couch. The envenomation is not usually fatal. However, the anaphylactic reaction some have to the bite can be, in some cases as little as 30 minutes.

  • Black Widow = Ninja of the arachnid family.

  • creepy...ever heard of the brown widow? It's twice as venomous, though it injects less venom than the black widow.

  • Brazilian wandering spiders are the most venomous of them all, therefore the most dangerous, and the fact that they are highly aggressive doesn't help at all

  • sound check when you get bit

  • I HATE spiders . I'm mortified by them

  • That movie 'Arachnophobia' made my previous fear of spiders way worse than I ever thought it could be.

Now I can't even look at them without cringing.

  • @summerlandmisfit Me too, I am afraid of them.

  • @summerlandmisfit You mean terrified, mortified means extremely embarrassed or humiliated hun.

  • @summerlandmisfit You mean terrified "mortified" means "deeply embarrassed"

  • The female black widow spider, though it is the most venomous spider in North America, seldom causes death as it injects a very small amount of poison when it bites. Reports indicate human mortality at well less than 1% from black widow spider bites

  • walking on insulation doesn't look like much of a good idea either

  • I think the australian equivalent is the Red Back spider. Just as bad as the Black Widow.

  • Yea here in Rochester Minnesota we have no poisonous spiders!

  • Thank god we have none of thos kinda Spiders In Hawaii.

  • and here in minnesota were i live

  • Tennessee,they are everywhere!

  • and here in washington

  • we do in arizona

  • I got bitten by a spider in my own home.

I don't know how she didn't feel the prick of the bite.

It felt like a needle piercing my skin repeatedly, and the pain would not stop. Then I got violently sick, and stayed that way for days.

  • The same here but in the sumer I get bitten by mosquitoes and I hardly feel them.

  • ????

  • i live on the farm and i get gold brown recluse spiders if any body get bitten by them the skin will rot so bad that you will need skin surgery no joke i own a indian ornamental tarantulas they raise there yellow and black striped legs up that means warning and the tarantula is very poisons

  • Yeah i got bit by one of them working up at Cedar Point(ohio). Luckly i was able to get to the Er in time so it wasnt as bad as it could of been.

  • why can it get so bad? ar B.W poisonous or summin'?

  • very poisonus can kill within a hour.

  • Venomous. They're not poisonous.

  • I have 2 strange bugs living in my house my brothers

  • lol gpghosts!

  • LOL

  • Hmm, 0:45...

  • I got bit by one and I lived

  • you mean survive'd pleas make sens

  • I hate spiders. I also hate wasps. Wasps are annoying.

  • @amnistic45 i know right they just hover around you trying to scare you

  • me too

  • @amnistic45 Me too. I got stung by a wasp when I was little.

  • What bit her a brown recluse?

  • black widow.

  • A black widow. I was actually bitten by one last Sat night. I did not know what bit me at first since I saw nothing crwaling away. It was small at first so I ignored it. Then by late Sunday night my arm was swollen & rashes all over my body. I went to the doc Mon morn & he officially said it was a blk widow. Said I must have slight resistance since I didn't end up in hosp w/n an hour. But it was still a bad reaction. Got a steroid shot in the butt & am on Prednisone & antibiotics.

  • A Black Widow Spider.

  • I like spiders but I have never got bitten by one and I hope I never do lol

  • I <3 spiders im pick them up and ley them run round my arm.

  • puch alt thn 3 thn let go of both and u'll get a heart (p.s the 3 on the no.'s on the RIGHT of the arrow keys)

    lke so.. ♥

  • Black widows are the most venomous spider on earth, with venom 20 times as powerful as a cobra. But since they have very little venom, fatalities are VERY rare, and when they do occur they are usually in small children or the elderly. However a bite will make anyone VERY sick with painful spasms and contractions thanks to the neurotoxin they have.

But an anaphylactic reaction IS MUCH MORE DANGEROUS than the venom itself because death can occur in minutes. That's why bees kill more than spiders

  • I hate spiders..only spider i like is spiderman..lol

  • and created... SPIDER-SENIOR!!

  • lol XD

  • Egad! I HATE SPIDERS!

  • ditto im allergic to all bugs and fuck all really =s

  • we all hate spiders...but thers onley 1 spider im not sceard of and that is the tarantula

  • ah omg watching this made my leg itch for some reason lol

  • lol

  • black Widows and Brown Recluse Spiders, like most other spiders, will only bite if stuck in clothes, bed sheets ,etc. Most spiders don't really care to bite people. If you see something 200 times your size, would you bite him?

  • well they dont have to neccesarily be stuck on anytning to bite you. if they feel threatened they will definately bite. just like how the womans foot was right by it. so it bit her

  • Uhhh the black widows gives me the creps since i could remeber. That the only spider that scares me...

  • We actually just learned in Biology today that black widows and brown recluses are the US's most poisonous spiders.

  • ive been bit by a brown recluse b4 trust me its not fun

  • @erticbunny69 aren't brown recluse highly toxic

  • i dont think theyre as poisonus as black widows i dont think, but it makes u feel like u have the flu, but i was given an antibiotic and cream and i took care of it in the nick of time so i didnt hav a scar

  • Brown recluse spiders have very small fangs. The main concern with a bit is an infection if the bite area becomes ulcerated.

  • If anybody has the original or Family Channel version of this segment/episode, please message me.

  • @BeatleMoe I wish I had it. People can be sooooo selfish.

  • If I remember, isn't there a segment before this or after this with a robber in a white trans-am who peels rubber from a bank just after robbing it.

And a guy uses his car phone to call 911 while tailing him? I think the villian had red dye on his clothes.

  • Yep, "911 Bank Rob Recovery". It was the third segment. The second one was "Trailer Fire".

  • And the 4th is a boy named Doug who drowns while fishing because he gets too close to the edge of the water and falls in.

  • Did she not actualy get bit for this re-enactment?

It looks like the spider gets close to her, but then the camera turns away.

I don't know of any fake re-enactment spiders out there!

  • At 1:25 the spider is seen next to her foot, but then the camera moves away from her foot.

Next, she is seen shaking her foor. That is probably acting, and not from the reaction itself.

And the big red foot is from make-up I'm guessing to make her foot look swollen.

And the real situation, her foot would have been red from the actual bite and not make-up.

  • I remember seeing an episode of something where a scorpion crawled into a baby's shoe and when the mom put the shoe on the baby screamed in pain. I don't know if it was this show or another?

  • I did not notice Shatner giving her age, but she's got teenaged kids, she's climbing and working on her roof, she doesn't even have gray hair... how does she qualify as elderly?

  • If you shake your shoe out before you put it on, that's supposed to be enough. When I was in Mexico for several months, they had us shake out our shoes and check our beds for scorpions. Personally, if I knew there were poisonous spiders on the ground, I would rather wear a shoe that covers my toes. Fortunately, there are no poisonous spiders in my area. I hate spiders.

  • hen I first saw this on CBS, my first thought was "kill the spider but put some shoes on first"

  • I think that's a REALLY good idea davinp and I'm wearing stap-back sandals which is lucky. But there is no black widows in my neighborhood.

  • I think that's a REALLY good idea davinp and I'm wearing stap-back sandals which is lucky. But there is no black widows in my neighborhood.

  • I once saw a story on another show, I don't remember what is where their a black widow spider was in a lady's show in the shed. So, when she put her shoe on she had no idea their was a spider in it and got bit. It's a good idea to wear sandles.

  • Man..I remember this one. After seeing that episode as a child, from that point on, every time I saw a black spider, I'd look for that white dot on its back.
