@TuesdayPillow She watered it down because she was not getting a high score while performing a DTY. She used to score below 9.9 because of her lack of form, bent lengs and piked down body. It wasn't worth the risk.
well, a full and double are both worth a 10. obviously, tatiana had to try a lot ahrder for this vault and didn't wanna take too much risk for the olympics.
The difficulty in that 1991 USSR team was just incredible, especially in Gutsu's routines. Tatiana's difficult level was already that high nearly 20 years ago, and in all four disciplines, she was so there to be a great champion!
Why why why why didn't she do this vault at the 1992 Olympics???? She wasn't injured and she had such good difficulty on all the other events.

Actually, I've heard she had a back injury during the Olympics. The severity of it is questionable but it would explain watering down a bit.

I just love the entire 1991 USSR world team. Although I really wish Tatiana Groshkova was there with them too, she was such a talent.

I agree with you about groshkova, she never got the chance she deserved.
