  • I practice for many years, barefooting. I believe that no footwear is comparable to the well-being that you try walking barefoot. Surely these shoes mimic very well the sensitivity and the proper motion of the bare foot, but I think it is better totally bare feet walking. When you get used to this, then should not be any more comfortable shoes, even the most technological and costly.

  • Am trying to start to run complealy bearfoot, but for now i just got vibram and i love it!

  • It is true, i'm a traceur and all that i can tell is that being barefoot (or wearing the VFF) while running feels incredible, but also i had to RE-LEARN how to walk, it took me a while but now i think i couldn't had done a better thing than that.

  • omg, you peeple are idiots. the reason you injure your foot when you run in vibram is because you dont run correctly.

  • I'm a speedwalker and do my walking on hard pavement using a heel strike first stride. How do you speed walk in FiveFingers? Speedwalking is inherently a heel strike first endeavor and I couldn't imagine doing it in FiveFingers without ending up with intense heel pain or plantars fascitis.

  • I can walk......Hurray!!!! :D

  • Shoes reduce the impact caused when your foot hits the ground. A good pair of shoes reduces the chance of injury.

  • @gladfelter17 We will have to agree to disagree. Google "Bryan Marcel barefoot running" for a great article on my website.

  • @gladfelter17 explain the Tarahumara then?

  • Don't buy theese shoes. They will most likely damage your feet if you are running long distances every day. Running shoes are DESIGNED to reduce the impact damage from running and they're doing a pretty damn good job. Don't be an idiot and think that "Oh, this is natural, blablabla..." They just wanna make money like everyone else. Unfortunatly some people choose to play with peoples minds and make them belive the hype... Check 05:13 on this vid /watch?v=Z9q8KfDy744

  • @Deki0724 Thank you for your comment. Please read the article below on my website about barefoot running. You will find that the human foot not only doesn't need shoes, but that they actually do more harm than good. Hence, all of the knee and ankle injuries. i don't wear shoes to run, so who makes money on that?

    Google: Bryan Marcel Barefoot Running

  • @Deki0724 You Sir or Ma'am are an idiot! Shoes and boots have been damaging peoples feet & bodies for hundreds of years. Being barefoot--or as close to barefoot (Vibram 5 Fingers)as possible--is a much healthier and natural way to walk/run. It is not about "playing" with peoples minds. It is about educating them!! GET EDUCATED!!! Barefoot walking is not a fad or hype (as you call it). It is the natural way to live life!

  • @PRIMITIVELIVING Thanks for your comment. In the future please note that you lose any intellectual discussion when you resort to namecalling. If you had done your research, by visiting my website and searching "barefoot" for example, you would realize that I do promote barefoot and minimalist. Again, thank you for your comment.

  • @BryanMarcelLifestyle Thanks for the tip Bryan, but you cannot have an intellectual discussion with such people (Deki724). If you view my channel you will notice that I live a completely barefoot lifestyle & agree with your assessment, as stated in your video. Also, if you notice, my previous comment is not directed to you, it is directed to Deki724. I have been dealing with such "idiots" for the last 10 years, & I am not opposed to "labeling" (namecalling) such people as the opportunity arises.

  • @Deki0724 what makes you think that? we have been running barefeet since we could walk upright. What makes you think running shoes that were created maybe 60 years ago is better than MILLIONS of years of Evolution?.

  • ummm... where do i get one of those shirts..????!!

  • those are hella ugly...id rather not wear shoes at all.

  • Humans weren't designed to wear T-shirts either! Ha! Win!

  • @tcoulson1 Ha ha. Great point, but I need to keep it G rated for the kids. :)

  • @BryanMarcelLifestyle I like how you make shoes sound 'evil'. I don't care if you're right about everything about shoes, but you just make shoes sound downright evil.

  • @gladfelter17 Shoes are a very unnecessary evil. They are a podiatrists wet dream come true. One of the biggest medical scams is podiatry. If people quit wearing shoes there would be no need for them! All western medicine makes billions at the expense of human life, and we just keep letting them do it to us . . . . So, if what Bryan is saying about shoes is true, you will still continue to wear them? If so, that makes no sense at all!?

  • I live in canada... I dont think these would work in january

  • @PlatypusGuitar Ive lived in Minnesota before. Nothing works in January. Ha ha. Check out the Vibram Five Fingers Flow.

  • To lose weight follow my Bryan Marcel Healthy Diet (google it).

As for the walking. First, relax. Take your shoes off and walk using a shorter stride. Wearing shoes has encouraged you to heel strike. Taking shorter strides should prevent that. You will still be heel/toe, but not as pronounced. You will almost be walking flat footed, almost. Again, relax and take it slow. it will take some time to relearn this method, but it is very comfortable once you do it right. Enjoy.

  • How are we supposed to walk anyway? Toe/heel? Heel/Toe?

    Flat footed?

    I'm confused.

I want to walk healthier, I want to lose weight. I just need to know how to do it.

  • I wanted to see a video of how to walk. I've been wearing my Vibrams for 18 months now, don't just tell me to "learn how like a child" give me something concrete. Children learn by observing models, not by making it all up on their own.

  • @greendrake2727, in fact he does. He alludes to the fact that the human foot is designed to land almost flat compared to the heel-to-toe motion that we usually do with shoes.

  • But he doesn't even tell us HOW to walk. All he does is go off on some tangent and then say an old saying.

  • @greendrake2727 ... you don't know how to walk?.

  • this fuckin guy..........He's deep.

  • I love how you stress micro-progression! so many people buy these and go for a full day hike, bad idea. Just like working out, you have to start off slow.

  • @MTBCharlotte Thank you. Like many I learned the hard way. I walked in them for daily use for several months before I ever started sprinting in them. The first time I did my sprints in the Vibrams I did three instead of my usual six. The next day I couldn't walk!! The muscles in my feet were still so poorly developed. The other aspect is that you have to learn to shorten your stride until you unlearn heel strike tendencies. That requires a very slow running speed until you figure it out.

  • A very good analogy. Take it slow.

  • @mikebecker507 Thank you for your comment. People want to just put on the vibrams and go for broke. Not a good idea. The muscles in your feet are weak due to wearing shoes for years. One can't expect, realistically, to be able to put on a pair of Vibrams and be able to run faster and jump higher like you could in your new shoes in grade school. :)
