  • hi, what are the bags filled with--- can you post the ingredients?

also where did you get the bags?

  • Hey! Try a rocket mass heater, folks! When you're old, you won't have the strength to cut wood like that. Rocket mass heaters use TONS less wood and can heat up your house well.

  • Did this house ever get finished in the 2 years?

  • Haha the look on girl and dads faces @ 5:20, classic. Nice vid guys!

  • What are you filling the bags with again? earth off the ground, gravel...

  • hmm, i wonder about hemp-crete for earth bags i bet that would work really well.

  • It seemed like a great idea... until I saw that giant spider! 0_0'

I am considering building one of these homes next year myself but after seeing this video I think I need to consider the importance of location. Spiders I simply can not deal with! *shudder*

  • I live in Texarkana. We have some rural acreage and are thinking of building one of these to escape the house payment. We would love a tour and/or talk about your learning experiences while building this. How far have you gone, is it near completion? Great videos.

  • how long does earthbags home stays without cracks etc?

  • i want to build some like yours but in an island of belize ,can i fill the gags with a salty mood from the sea?

  • what are the ingredients for the bag mixture? i heard limestone,....

  • I wish there was more vidioes. How is the house comming along?

  • I'm vegetarian too... but that's my own business... I don't agree with vanna4animals, especially when people take to their own hands the killing of the animals. That to me is a lot more sustainable and conscious than going to your nearest supermarket to buy boca-burgers. All form of life is precious not only deers but let people do their own choices particularly when they don't support the commercial/industrialized/massive consumption. Great job with the house by the way!!

  • love your green home. thank you.

    patch this into search------> h0dnk7snhQ

    cute video lipp sync

  • How come she never does any work? Or was her contribution wasting money on the "earth" printed bags and the cheesy over-priced bag holders so she could feel good about herself. That guy must be to rich to afford a divorce.

  • Yes please tell us if you finished the house!

  • Yes please tell us if you finished the house!

  • what has happened with the house? There are no new vids?

  • Some answers to your comments....

1-buring brush - we did use a propane yard dragon to burn off a small 20 ft square area to put our tent. We have chickens now that have taken care of the tick problem!

2-We are sharing our experience on building an earthbag home so we can help others and answer some of your questions along the way!

3-We burned and cleared some brush in the area where we are building our house. We have lots of trees and forest area on the remainder of our land.

  • Those backstrap steaks looked delicious! You guys are great, keep it up! I can't wait to see an update on the house.

  • Im not sure why this has become an animals rights forum??? but what I would like to know is.... How many bags did you use?

Love your work and I love venison...

    Kev

  • How far have you gotten on finishing your home? Have you already finished the first dome?

  • Any progress on Gov. BS? The Constitution should provide some leeway, U.S.C. Tittle 18, Sec. 241 and 242. Check out landrights DOT c o m / NoTrespassing DOT h t m. Keep us posted! G'luck!

  • Man I want to do this so damn bad. Im stuck in a house with an insane mortgage and being jobless now its a real pain trying to keep up. I love this idea.

  • @vanna4animals Deer is a natural organic meat. They will over-populate our area and are a big hazard for drivers here. Paul has been hunting all his life and has a great appreciation for wildlife. One deer has supplied a great meat source all winter! We have a high respect for animals and respect all the hunting laws!

  • @ArdomeTV I think what you guys are doing is awesome! Absolutely incredible. You two have inspired my husband and I. Brilliance, absolute brilliance. Thank You.

  • @ArdomeTV no excuse maaaan

  • @ArdomeTV - I love deers, One of the most beautiful creature of GOD ! I am totaly against hunting and killing, this is evil and in my mind will always be no matter what . Hazzard to drivers ? well this is their land, so drive safe and slow where they are. This is God´s land and all animals deserve to live a happy free life as we do too with nature.

  • @vanna4animals Uhh in case you didn''t know living things eat other living things for food. That's how life works. As long as you don't kill for pleasure and waste the meat. Really get sick of hearing you care bear veggie morons whine about this stuff. Its life get used to it. You going to go protest against lions who kill animals for their food too?

  • @vanna4animals

Although i partly agree with you, most meat from the supermarkt are from animals who had a horrible life. They never see day light, stand in their own shit knee deep 24/7 and are fed heavily medicated feeds. Even conventional or even organic agriculture whipes out complete ecological systems, deminishing habitat, soil quality and eventually all life sustaining qualities. The damage ie. a 5000 acre cornfield does is nothing compared to the heavily regulated hunting of wildlife.

  • @vanna4animals I loved the videos, what happened? Were you not able to finish? I am so looking forward to seeing your completed home. And well done for Paul and his hunting skills! We don't have deer where I live, but the meat looks nice and lean!

  • @vanna4animals Wow. Are you serious!?Supermarket? Where do you think that meat comes from? Animals! A lot of which have been treated very poorly and killed in painful ways. Are you that ignorant? What would happen to it if they didn't eat it? Deer are prey. They get eaten by other animals (which I'm sure is a little more traumatizing than dying quickly from a bullet), or worse, they get hit by cars, which spoils the meat and can injure people and destroy vehicles. Good luck on the bandwagon!

  • Any children who can have fun with a wheelbarrow and bouncing on a bent over sapling are going far in life, make no mistake! =)

  • Okay y'all have left us out on a limb lol how is it going? I'm an over the road truck driver and live down in SE OK just west of Poteau and can't wait to get off the road in March! I'm going to be starting my own Earthship type house! Y'all have gave me some great ideas! Is y'all's solar powered?

  • Great video. I enjoyed every second of it.

  • @68thanatos stay in touch - come and visit in the spring!

  • YOU GUYS ROCK :)))

  • Hoping to do this in the Carolina's myself. Love your video, friending y'all in a few seconds.

  • This is so kwel. Love to see you finish and see more on the updayes

  • i like this you guy are update with your vids thanks.

  • Must say there is nothing like watching people work like slaves and enjoying it so much. Your daughters one person teeter totter at 4:20 was priceless.

  • Iam also interested in building a home like this in chicago, any tips on how you got the permits to build this way? I know in chicago this would go against all the building codes.

  • where did you get your bags? looks like they are made for this app.

  • I like to see your face at 520 :) so funny

  • Y'alls little girl is so cute. It's cool that she has parents like y'all that think outside the box. I do have to say how lucky you are Paul to have suck a cool wife that works with you. I care about my girlfriend but if I need any help doing stuff she is useless, so does try but it is easier to just do stuff alone. Man, that deer looked good....up here in Oregon I don't hunt any more. I can't wait to see the finished house.

  • have you finished it, would love to see pics of finished

  • Hi just wondering about the bag holder frame you have, I would like to build one like yours can you give me instructions on how to build one thanks

  • I love your guy's ingenuity!!!HOW DID YOU GET PAST THE PERMIT PROCESS???

  • Regarding the code violations and what not. They say its a free country, but you can't even build a simple shelter on your own property without jumping through a bunch of rings. What someone wants to do on their own private property is their business, long as no one is basically getting killed or manufacturing drugs its not that big of a deal. These codes were basically set up to protect the interests of construction companies and major manufactures. No one is out for the regular citizen.

  • @thehilitereel I am so with you. Fight on libratarians! I'm thinking of just building something and hoping they don't catch me. Seriously, those permit fees are extortion money.

  • Very nice.

  • you guys rock!

  • You guys are a screech! well done - fab. xoxox

  • Hello Pauland Lisa! Thousands congrats for your wonderful initiative. My husband and I are planning something similar but in Portugal!! the land of the greenies and eco people. We are gathering as much info as we can to start cracking, but so far we dont really know where is the best design. Can you recommend us where you got your design from? Also, why are you using tiles? Would love to hear from you. Tahnks

  • we live adjacent to but not in lost bridge village ( garfield mail district ) it's a good thing the arkansas EPA and benton county inspectors didn't know what you were doing. we built a retaining wall of earth filled tires ( approx.600 of them ) to make a flat place on our lot. it wasn't even visible to the public.

someone reported what we did and we had to tear the wall down and haul the tires to the landfill ( go figger ) cost us a bundle.

    good luck

  • Unfortunately the Benton County Building Inspector is on our trail and now we have to pay an unexpected building permit ($600-800). But I will be happy to stick a camera in their face and show the world how they are standing in the way of common sense and green building methods! That may not scare them but they might think twice... We'll see.

  • @arkansascajun There is sort of a loophole in that law in some places. If the area is fenced in, they can't do anything to you.

  • Shoot i paused and commented before i got tot he good part. Nice buck, gotta love opening day being the day. Nice stup ya all got there, makes me that much more ambitious.

  • Oh I just loved the electrical. I often wondered about that, Duhhhh. AThen you can run your under the bags and etc. Very awsome. I dug the chicken wire to Im definatly keeping an eye open for more vids, already subscribed. Rock on.

  • I think it is cool what someone can do if they just have some imagination. This is a great way to build on the cheap. All it takes is time and energy from a person. It's kind of like the SOD houses of the plians in the old west. But I think you could only do this kind of building on your own land in the country. The city would have to many rules I think?

  • We have 44 acres and Benton County building has already been on our tail about getting a approved septic system and building permit ($600-800) which really sucks! They should mind their own beewax!

  • fantastic work ya'll! We're proud you're from Arkansas! We'll keep an eye out for more! Take care.

  • Gracias! We are anxious to get going once we get our building permit. Arg! We have 44 acres and have to comply with government regulations!! They have no idea what gray and black water is nor do they know what an earthbag home is!!

  • keep it up! we'll be anxiously awaiting the next chapter... can't wait to start our own. please keep us posted on permits, etc. as that is our biggest concern... you have a beautiful family.

  • We have 44 acres and just found out that we have to get a building permit ($600-800). When I asked what that money was used for they repied "I don't know. I think it is to maintain the office." Gov. red tape runs thick at all levels!

  • @ArdomeTV Gov'ment blows.

  • I think UR doing Great! I live in Fort Smith . I look forward to more!

  • How stable are such houses?

  • @BlackCappa

These earthbag houses are the safest because of the dome shape, width of walls, and fully packed bags. They are also fireproof - with little or no wood, termite proof, and more sound than any square wood framed house!

  • @ArdomeTV

    Thanks for the information.

  • Our house is like a fickin fortress! Our walls are 20" thick - solid!

  • Thanks for sharing these Videos

  • Nice!

Can't wait to watch the progress.

  • looking good

  • awesome

  • Did you have to get any special permits to build your home this way? if so how?

  • I think they're putting it specifically in the woods where they dont have to worry about that

  • ok..we just got a notice to pay $800 building permit for our benton county, Arkansas. They require a 1000 gallon septic tank too even if we reclaim all the gray water and have a composting toilet. Arkansas is way behind the times! ; (

  • looking good . thanks for sharing your building process. That's pretty good axe handing. I guess , I never chopped anything.

  • looks great, keep up the good work
