  • Should definitely have gone to Anne Ramsey!! She was amazing and funny in "Throw Momma..."

  • is she still acting?

  • Should have gone to Anne Ramsey

  • Norma Aleandro deserved it.

  • Olympia deserved it, but I wouldn't have minded Anne Ramsey getting it before she died. Though I'm guessing in her case just being nominated was a nice way to go out.

  • Just watched Moonstruck with my friend who never saw it..I loved her performance so much..she is one ot my faves..also loved her in Steel Magnolias. So happy she won!

  • A pity Anne Ramsey didn`t win. She was already seriously ill during this Oscar event. She died only a couple of months later.

  • Olympia Dukakis fans please look up: Olympia Dukakis Chats With Jeff 4 Justice

  • Too many Annes

  • This Oscar so should have gone to Anne Ramsey!!

  • Thumbs up if you got redirected here from Mike Dukakis's acceptance speech in Atlanta 1988.

  • that Michael she mentions at the end is the guy that lost the Elections right?

  • @contact1araya Yes, his brother and former governor Michael Dukakis. At that time, he was campaigned for the 1988 elections

  • Μπράβο ρε Ολυμπία!!! Μας έκανες υπερίφανους!!! :')

  • I love Dukakis performance on "Away from Her" with Julie Christie.

  • robbery norma aleandro

  • Wow, what weak competition.

  • How lovely to see the legendary Ann Sothern

  • Olympia Dukakis will be appearing tomorrow (January 5) on The Today Show on NBC.

  • Yep, Michael went, all right...right down the tubes! Where is he today, I wonder?

  • Michael is her cousin, not her brother, and he didn't stand a chance in 1988 anyway. The Reagan revolution was still going strong and it wouldn't have mattered who the democrats nominated to run against then Vice-President Bush in the election that year, he still would have won.

The Reagan revolution was still going strong at the time and it wouldn't have mattered who the democrats nominated to run against then Vice-President Bush in the election that year, he still would have won no matter who the democratic nominee had been.

  • America had the chance to vote for the Greek...but those morons voted for that bum, Bush! in politics the roorback sometimes makes all the work...

  • A pity Anne Ramsey didn`t win. She was such a great actress. She is sadly missed.

  • a very silly oscar moment at the end when she said that comment about her brother Michael Dukakis who was running for President. On the night it was obvious that Cher was going to win Best Actress over Glenn in Fatal Attraction, especially after the academy favored Olympia over Anne Archer of fatal Attraction. A better winner would have been Ann Sothern

  • Good speech till she had to mention that loser's name at the end

  • I guess her go Michael was in vain.

  • In Argentina, Norma Aleandro is our best Actress. We love her

  • good thing Anne Ramsey died!

  • This was such an uninteresting lineup.

  • Sorry, Anne Ramsey will always be the old lady from the Goonies :)

  • I have just seen her.Its the first time in my life that i meet such a famous celebrity.

  • Anne Ramsey is a crusty old bag

  • she looked adorable!

  • She was a splendid actress who did wonderfully with a face that was not the Hollywood standard.

  • jeej! olympia was amazing that movie... she deserved it!

  • oh both glenn and michael were like damn why couldn´t it have been Anne Archer.

  • now i understand that it is hatred when actors get into politic

  • "Okay, Michael, let's go!"

This was a shout out to her cousin, Michael Dukakis, who ran for President that year against George H.W. Bush.

  • @Beale64 And it's too bad that the Bush team ran a big smear campaign against Michael in order to win the White House!

  • Bless Anne Ramsey. She died not long after this Oscar Ceremony.

  • she looks so adorable there.

  • Ann Southern also died soon after this.

  • No, she didn't. She died in 2001.

  • Olympia Dukakis was wonderful!

  • Norma Aleandro sos maravillosa!!!

  • Anne Archer, Ann Sothern, Ann Ramsey.

    What a coincidence.

  • Comment removed

  • Damn did anyone else notice that 3 out of the 5 nominees names were ANN (E)??? LOL!

  • Good job, Olympia!!!!!!!!!!!

  • It should have gone to Anne Archer. Olympia Dukakis was good, but Anne Archers performance was poweful.

  • Oh my God it's Glenn Close. She's a godess!

  • More like Baba Yaga.

  • I vaguely remember they were introduced via a "Fatal Attraction" clip. Glenn Close was pregnant at the time if I'm not mistaken.

  • Good category, but this choice was very clear.

A well-deserved win for Olympia Dukakis!!

  • All first-time nominees!!!

  • An amazing group of veteran actresses!

  • There's a reason why the applauses were louder for Anne Ramsay:'Cuz she deserved it.

  • May Ann Ramsay rest in peace. I thought she was wonderful in Throw Momma!

  • @NJNupe1911 No matter how many times I watch the film, Mrs Lift makes me laugh my ass off. "Holy shit!! What a dream I was having! Louis Armstrong was trying to kill me!!" Best line EVER.

  • I remember watching this. Thanks for posting.

  • She truly deserved it ! Moonstruck was so great and so werer Olympia, Cher an all the actors !

  • this lady is truely wonderful

  • Ann Sothern looked less than pleased.

  • thank U so so sooooooo muuuch! I was waiting for this video and I just wanna thank you!!! I perfectly remember this moment in the ceremony at 1988 and I was only 7 years old :D:D:D thank U again!!!

  • She deserved it!

  • how bout Cher

  • What do you mean by "what about Cher"? She went on to grab the best actress award.
