You don't need a switch if it is a power on activation just run that power to the switched power lead for the head units main power so the ignition is the switch, the same power as the stereos power, not the constant memory power lead but the switched lead for the stereo and that way it's on when the car ignition is on and off when the car is off! Simple no extra switch! The difference between methods is whether it's the backup camera or DVD enable!
The Camara will only stay on when u put it to reverse cuz that's its power sorce if u want it on all the time then the reverse wire from the Camara connect it to a acc wire so it will turn on right along with the stereo and off when the car is off

PEOPLE, you do not need a relay or any other product to ground your parking brake out. Just ground the wire out as the video here shows. Your radio will work great. I've been installing radios for years been doing this multiple times never having any problems. You will not "burn out your radio", that is complete BS and a scare tactic to try to fool yo

I have a really high end DVD/NAV/BLUETOOTH Kenwood player, i want to install a toggle switch so i am able to engage and disengage video incase of the police :), what is the safest way to run my parking brake wire, i was told, run parking break wire to toggle switch then run ground to other terminal on toggle switch, does this sound like it will work and is it safe? as far as burning fuses, etc..
@Jcpierc21 Just ground the dam thing and call it a day. If your that worried about the video and police dont do it. I have never heard of anyone getting pulled over for video playing in the front of their car.

find a place where its touching pure metal but ur cd player has a ground running into it so jus hook it up there-but if it resets its self every time your gonna have to run ground to a toggle-so u turn car on flip toggle on then of then back so it acts like parking brake was engaged
@Phloxx1 no! if they hook up ur video deck in ur car, they ground ur deck on your brake, so u can't watch it while ur driving. it u just take that wire off(the one from ur deck to ur brake) and u ground it somewhere, it'z going to active while ur driving....

Because u don't actually ground out the parking brake wire in the car itself.... Just the wire coming out the back if radio...

@bigchevy11 from remote setup, 5 4 3 2 1 0(hold "0" for 4 seconds) let go. look for the brake override option and turn it on.
