I consider it one of the greatest shames that I discovered them right after their "hiatus" began. I'm hoping they return so I can see just how amazing they were first hand.
When my husband died, we had a party instead of a funeral. Played Moxy music, turned on the disco ball in the hall, and banned any beer that wasn't micro-brewed. He would have been proud, he was a true fruhead (me too) and I miss them almost as much as I miss him. Sigh.
I was lucky enough to see Moxy perform live four times. They were my biggest surprise, musically, back in my college days. These guys are in their 40s now, I wonder if we'll ever see them tour or record again--but I'm sure it would be really, really cool. If you guys are interested, be sure to check out their "B Album;" it has some of the best work they ever did.
Actually, *just* into their 40's. 3 of them. (as am I. sigh) Mike was 4-5 years older than the others. If memory serves, the rest of them are now, this year, 40.
THANK you, all of you who are keeping these alive. Some of us had the horrible fortune to become serious fans AFTER the band broke up, and never ever got to see much of 'em.
That was totally my mistake! :( I have learned now. :) I'll eventually be uploading my videos -- I've got a large collection. Some of it was shown at Frucon II in Feb 1999.
There's actually a very good chance that a lot of what you have is dubs of my originals. About 3-4 hours worth of vhs dubs floating around are copies that I traded to people, and some of them were played on a loop on the little tv at Frucon II (the biiiiiiggg Frucon!). So we might have some duplicates, but that's ok! More Fruvous on YouTube = all good. =)

When they say "Again and again and again" at the beginning, it sounds like Weird Al is singing.

Augh, me too. I was so upset when they went on hiatus...I hope they know how much they disillusioned me. I was an innocent seven-year-old! haha.

I still play "Thornhill" in my car - love the spy-film chords that open Splatter Splatter ;-D

I've always liked this version more than the studio one. It's been on their site since I started visiting, and I always end up watching.
Anyone have a clue what they sing before they start playing?

They're singing, "in the year 2000," which is a running segment on the program.

This band is fun to listen to and great to sing along with. They should never have broken up in the first place.
