  • @nitrobartek i have an oscar that is about 6 yrs old, he's only 9 in. i have him in a 55 gal tank. is that why he's only 9 in?he grew gradually, not fast then stopped.

  • @crki12 so where did you get the branch looking things in the bottom

  • 55 gallon? (nice oscar)

  • yep but it's a old video, now I have nearly 4 times bigger.

  • when people comment on oscar fish i feel like they are talking about me

  • i have 2 of the tiger oscars, they will eat anything

  • wow! they are beautiful!

  • man cool video!!cool oscar!

  • thanks :)

  • my 10 inch half red devil hlaf flowerhorn killed a 1.5foot catfish

  • and so what?

    it's not a competition.

  • What size tank do you recemend for a single oscar? I dont want anying HUGE but a good 50-60g tank for an oscar?

  • That's plenty for an Oscar

  • that is not plenty, that is a minimum, 50g is really too small to have a healthy oscar for a life.

  • One Oscar? It's fine.

  • SonikBlu23, u use a container such as a tote. you fill it with water, then submerge the driftwood in it. you anchor it so it wont float. then you wait. eventually, the driftwood will sink and not want to float anymore. thats when you add it to your aquarium. unfortunatly, it takes time, ive seen it take a month (it was a HUGE piece)

  • or just put really heavy weights attached to the drift wood.

  • tanx,

    i've notice that the driftwood

    dis colors the water quick...

    ??

  • If its in the water for years the tannins in the wood runs out so doesnt discolour your water anymore, having carbon in your filter will take out the tannins and make the water crystal clear too. the wood makes the ph drop thought which isnt that great for the oscar..

  • how do you get that driftwood to not float?

  • you leave it in water or you could tie it down with a rock

  • This catfish-eating behavior is natural. If you've checked the oscar's natural diet before...well...their main prey is small catfish - bristlenoses, ottos, banjos, smaller talking cats, whiptails, etc. But oscars can be safely kept with larger catfish like common plecs and sailfin plecs.

  • dude, I know all this, I'm a PRO Oscar keeper!

    check out my other vids.

  • lol @ "PRO Oscar keeper"

  • dude, if you haven't seen my other vids then don't lol me :P

  • beautiful color on your oscar!

  • thank you.

  • Was that a bristenose Catfish because i have two i want to put in with my three oscars but kinda scared the oscars will eat them

  • yes it was a brist....

how big is yours and how big are the Oscars?

  • My bristlenose are about 4cm and my Oscars are about 17cm

  • you should wait, those bristes will get eaten by Oscars.

  • I put my bristle-nose in with them for about a month and it survived but now i have taken it out and put it in my little tank to grow more

  • good, they really take time to grow.

  • beautiful piece of shit..WoW

  • dude what is wrong with you?

  • beautiful fish

  • thanks.

  • excuse me,

do all types of oscars get to grow very big?

    or only some?

i would like to get a big mean oscar someday..

do blood oscars grow big?(orange/pink oscars)

  • Yes, they are grop big.

  • Depends on the growth rate of the Oscar. Some won't get past eight inches, the majority of Oscars stay around 12 to 14 inches. Some can get as big as 18 inches. Depends on the growth rate.

  • you must got that wrong, biggest Oscar ever recored was smaller then 16% and it was wild caught by some fisher man in Amazon river regions, since then there wasn't any bigger Oscar recorded.

their growth rate is 1" up too 2" a month and in most cases they grow 3" wide and 12-14" long in very good conditions with top food, and you can't forget about a fact that Fish's never stop to grow so don't worry if you have your oscar for 2 years and it's only 10" cause it will still grow but much slower...

  • I've seen some at a pet store once and they had to be around 24 inches. They were huge. I've heard some don't get past 6 inches from actual owners. Average is 12 - 14 inches. I've done a lot of research, you would be surprised on how big some of them can get.

  • IMAO, this is bull shit!!

Oscars in Aquariums grow till 15" max!

they don't grow bigger then that and for sure no Oscar get over 24 inches!!!

do your research again and look up your comment and you will see how damn you were.

  • That;s why your oscar has no friends

  • h3 has more friend then you think, check out my new videos.

  • well ya that was kinda obvious look at the size of your tigers and look at the size of your cat

  • well ya it was.

  • i guess the fish ate the cat this time ;D

  • yes it did.

  • hey every body check my oscars out and tell me if they have enough space

    (latest vid)

  • they don't!

  • how did the catfish die he's really long

  • y u ;

  • Very nice looking oscar, exactly what I would want

  • dude you should check out me newest video

  • how big is the oscar and the tank?????

  • well this is very old video,u should check out my new video and the aquarium is 200cm by 75cm by 50cm about 750litres

  • great colors on this guy wow

  • u should see my new video

  • ill check it out :)

hopefully mine grows as nice as ures

  • ok im getting my new oscar fish 2morrow and i need some tips with him if you got any send or post them here fishoh by the way dont do big words im only 9 :D bye

  • my baby oscar has the balls to bite my 1 foot long arowana

  • lol,my Oscar has balls to bite my RTC

  • why people rank my video so low?

  • because not much happends?

  • thats better than what i got, my oscar will go after anything that moves and will not rest until it destroys it. the only thing i can keep with it is big plecos and similar oscars.

  • mate how big is your oscar and how long do u have it?when i record this vid i had only 55g aquarium now he is in a monster aquarium

    rena 600:200cm/50cm/50cm

  • Did he hunt and kill the id shark. The reason I ask is I have both of those fish?.

  • yes he hunt it and than just bite off half of him and than eat the other half thats what i seen but record only last few seconds

  • my oscar doesn't really see my id sharks as meals but more as competitors, but on the other hand the oscar has grown up with them.

  • it all depends on Oscar fish, some Oscars are friendly and some are not.

  • Yeah, my oscars pretty mean to them but its just aggression not predation.

  • wait for him to get hungry.

is very similar to red tail catfish's

when they are full they are very peaceful but when they are hungry they can eat anything.

  • sounds possible, especially right now for mine because he just got over an illness where he hasn't eaten for 2 weeks.
