I must say, Ginette's interpretation is above all others.

Her dynamics are deeply detailed.I can imagine the technical difficulties just by listening to this.

How do you distinguish whether her playing is like a man??? Which factor??Supernatural??

I guess in those days it was meant as a compliment. It probably had to do with strong, convincing playing. After all, women were considered (and expected to be) "weak" as late as in the 50s. Check Hollywood if you don't believe that;). Thumbing down such a comment is silly: if they said it they said it. Just imagine the challenges she faced as a solo violinist in a male-dominated environment. Historical context, always an interesting thing!

Neveu is magnificent in this, one of my favorite pieces ever. Her death was a severe loss to the world; we are so fortunate she left behind a small but memorable recorded legacy: the Debussy Sonata and the Chausson Poeme, for example, which are unequaled in my listrening experience.
