@MIMI88998899 >>> The best female vocally talented group that I have ever heard. All of them can sing and each one can lead. <<<< They were soooo amazing!!! :) I love them.
As much as I love this song, I feel like "Desire" or "Hip Hop Lover" should have been released as a single instead. "Desire" just had that sex appeal in the song itself, and "Hip Hop Lover" appealed to the younger generation.
Their voices are divine and their sizzling sexuality is a joy to behold. I can't believe this type of beauty ever went out of style, if indeed it ever did.
ANOTHER ONE OF MY FAVORITE SONG'S BY EV! THIS IS ALL MAX! THIS IS MAXINE'S EV CLASSIC! THE LADIES ILLUSTRATED THEIR TRUE BEAUTY IN THIS ONE! I LOVE THE BLACK AND WHITE SCENARIO! I ESPECIALLY LIKE THE EARLY 1960'S ERA IN WHICH THIS VIDEO EMULATES! ALL FOUR LADIES ARE SO PRETTY! BUT CINDY ANN IS THE PRETTIEST WOMAN EVER! I JUST LOVE HER! A TRUE EV CLASSIC FROM THE 'FUNKY DIVAS' CD 1993!
I grew up listening and mimicking EnVouge's style. They are TIMELESS in their styles and their voices. Thank you JMister2009 for making them live on forever on YouTube<3
Watch cindy at about 40 seconds left. She is like the black girls I went to grammar school. The finger flip. I LOVE IT. black girls Rock!! I LOVE EN VOGUE!!!
I loved this group a whole lot back when I was in High School. I liked this song but for some reason the video just didn't make as much rounds on MTV compared to their other hits of the time.
Anyways, this video I still really like. Great singing, classy, and for it being set in a salon, they looked great :)
I just noticed the Kennedy posters. 1960 election year? When I was in college, I had this on cassette single. It was stolen from my car, but that was all they took! I guess the thief had good taste.
Max is my favorite from the original four but all of them can sing their asses off. Long live the Funky Divas! I can't wait for their new album to come out.
@SamadvsMusic I don't think the woman at 1:31 is Terry. She does look like Chili, but I don't think it is Chili either. (She seems a couple of shades too light.)
I think this might be my favorite song from the album! This song is sooooo fucking good! Damn the harmonies, the music, the lyrics...! omg. When people say music ain't what it used to be... This is what they mean. I'm in my mid 20's but i owned this cd as a child and i just feel so sorry for the kids today. Really, I don't wanna sound like my parents did in the 90's.... but music today... there is no comparison. Everything is so vain, and it has no emotion, or meaning.
@funkee1 Yeah, the Funky Divas definitely dominated the first half of the 90's, hell you couldn't go anywhere without hearing an EV song. EV was hot, they were the shit! Lol!!. The big stand outs (or bigger hits) of course were: Hold On Don't Go You Don't Have To Worry Giving Him Something He Can Feel My Lovin Free Your Mind Whatta Man Don't Let Go
I disagree, EV made a big smash on the music scene when they debuted back in the spring of 1990. As far as them being "unnoticed" that wasn't the case. It's just that, once EV hit it big, then you had a big wave of other girl groups (TLC, SWV, Jade, Total, Spice Girls, DC etc) dominating the music scene through out the rest of 90's, that EV just somewhat got a little eclipse. But those groups should thank EV, for bringing back the girl groups, which was lacking in the 80's.
i am sure En vogue is the only grounp that don't need leading vocalthru the years..because every girls can sing....is not like SWV and Destiny's children...
Never again in this lifetime will we see four black girls in a group all EQUALLY beautiful and all EQUALLY talented. Never seen it before, never will again. Greatest RnB group of all time...
WTH!!! I the heck did I miss this? I NEVER knew there was a video for this song!!! One of my favorite songs from them...Maxine is such a versatile singer!!!!
omg this is one of my favorite songs by en vogue. Man did maxine had some powerful vocals. im glad she sang this. sang it maxine. she can hit those powerful sorprano notes too. you go maxine.
One of my favorites by En Vogue this song has a really good message in it [plain and simple Give It Up Turn It Loose]...they all look good still look good had the pleasure of seeing them in concert at the end of April to help kick off The Kentucky Derby Celebrations....they still have it [vocals the looks] glad Dawn is back......
This is at the top of the list of favorite songs by the best female group in my life time. As it was said, every last one of them was an artist in her own right, but coming together was pure joy for all those around. The retro video is definitely a favorite of mine as well; it just goes to show how beautiful black women were even in those days.
Besides the fact that this song is in my top 2 from En Vogue (alongside "Don't Go"), I love, love, love this video. Classy, artistic work from director Marcus Nispel; I adore the retro feel, the camera movements and off course the sound from best female group of all time.
They Look BEAUTIFUL in this video..This might be my favorite song too from them...I like when Maxine leads...Cindy, Dawn and Terry sound Perfect on the backgrounds..
GOD DAMN, 20 years to this day, I can't believe how classy En Vogue kept it.

One of the funkiest songs ever recorded, and definitely their best track.
They ALL look good in this video (and all the others, for that matter).
Saw 'em live way back when, Dawn sang "Givin Him..." to me... *sigh*
I still think Cindy is one of THE most beautiful women, ever.
