  • GOD DAMN, 20 years to this day, I can't believe how classy En Vogue kept it.

  • If only i could "Give it Up, Turn it Loose"!! They are keeping it 100.

  • I remember this song. It was a great radio single back in '93. RIP real singing/talent...Hopefully you will rise again!!!

  • One of the funkiest songs ever recorded, and definitely their best track.

They ALL look good in this video (and all the others, for that matter).

Saw 'em live way back when, Dawn sang "Givin Him..." to me... *sigh*

I still think Cindy is one of THE most beautiful women, ever.

Makes Halle Berry look like she never happened.

  • Now that's what I call REAL talent, not like the "singers" of today who's talent is entirely manufactured

  • Goodness Cindy and Terry looked so good in this video

  • Ugh love this 90s reign supreme

  • Takes you back man! Good times. Don't tell me you're not back in the 90's when you listen to good music like this. Especially when you were a kid.

  • so this was Maxine singing lead on this. Never knew.

  • It was year between 1994 or 1995 because Cindy was pregrant that year. They stop touring with Luther Vandross in the middle of the tour.

  • I saw them when they was open act for Luther Vandross. They sound better live. I will never forget it.

  • @MUSICLADY1963 wouldve loved to v seen luther sing live, r.i.p :( what year was that?

kevin EW I KNEW IT!! lol love this song

  • I love this song and video!! They are definitly one of the best groups ever!!

  • En Vogue can sing their asses off. The best female vocally talented group that I have ever heard. All of them can sing and each one can lead.

  • @MIMI88998899 >>> The best female vocally talented group that I have ever heard. All of them can sing and each one can lead. <<<< They were soooo amazing!!! :) I love them.

  • I still love this song. 10/2011.

  • I LIKE THEIR MUSIC! THEY ARE REALLY TALENTED SINGERS!! MISS THEM!!! GOOD MUSIC!!

  • Beautiful harmonies!

  • jus sad that we will never have music like this anymore dont it jus gives u chills

  • Oh, those honey sweet days of my childhood! I wish it can come back when I listen to grooves like these.

  • awwww when BET and MTV played videos!!!

  • As much as I love this song, I feel like "Desire" or "Hip Hop Lover" should have been released as a single instead. "Desire" just had that sex appeal in the song itself, and "Hip Hop Lover" appealed to the younger generation.

  • I luv this grp so much!!! And it was Cindy in Juice not Dawn:)

  • People, that's not Chilli from TLC. That's actress Tamala Jones.

  • Their voices are divine and their sizzling sexuality is a joy to behold. I can't believe this type of beauty ever went out of style, if indeed it ever did.

  • ANOTHER ONE OF MY FAVORITE SONG'S BY EV! THIS IS ALL MAX! THIS IS MAXINE'S EV CLASSIC! THE LADIES ILLUSTRATED THEIR TRUE BEAUTY IN THIS ONE! I LOVE THE BLACK AND WHITE SCENARIO! I ESPECIALLY LIKE THE EARLY 1960'S ERA IN WHICH THIS VIDEO EMULATES! ALL FOUR LADIES ARE SO PRETTY! BUT CINDY ANN IS THE PRETTIEST WOMAN EVER! I JUST LOVE HER! A TRUE EV CLASSIC FROM THE 'FUNKY DIVAS' CD 1993!

  • I grew up listening and mimicking EnVouge's style. They are TIMELESS in their styles and their voices. Thank you JMister2009 for making them live on forever on YouTube<3

  • luv these bitches:::::::: ultimate funky divas

  • ONE OF THE BEST GIRL GROUPS EVER!

  • Watch cindy at about 40 seconds left. She is like the black girls I went to grammar school. The finger flip. I LOVE IT. black girls Rock!! I LOVE EN VOGUE!!!

  • Dawn was my favorite!

  • I loved this group a whole lot back when I was in High School. I liked this song but for some reason the video just didn't make as much rounds on MTV compared to their other hits of the time.

Anyways, this video I still really like. Great singing, classy, and for it being set in a salon, they looked great :)

    Loved En Vogue.

  • I remember this song! Man i loved En Vogue !

  • This was my cut!!!!!A Fan 4 Life From East St. Louis!!!!!

  • one of their best!

  • the best female R&B group ever, with no lead singers, every member is talented and sings!

  • @vels619 - I couldn't agree more!

  • I just noticed the Kennedy posters. 1960 election year? When I was in college, I had this on cassette single. It was stolen from my car, but that was all they took! I guess the thief had good taste.

  • Give it up turn it loose ow, if he don't want ya, ya don't need him!!!

  • I would drink their bath water!

  • They all look so pretty in this video! They always do, but very pretty in here! That classic look has always been the most beautiful look

  • took me back to my senior year in high school

  • 1950s style! love it!

  • Noticed TLCs Chilli in this Vid.

  • @javen26 um,um that's actress tamala jones. yeah, they looked almost identical.

  • is it maxine doing the main vocals on this?

  • max, cindy, dawn and terri...girl groups don't sound like this any more...wait...where are all the girl groups?

  • Max is my favorite from the original four but all of them can sing their asses off. Long live the Funky Divas! I can't wait for their new album to come out.

  • DAWN was the best and she was in the Movie Juice Looking GOOD!

  • @onteriojohnson CORRECTION i meant CINDY!!!!!!! LOL

  • @onteriojohnson that was actually cindy

  • @wozniacki15 i know i corrected my self ^ look right below my original comment

  • This use to be my jam I was 13 years old when this song came out the thing I love about en vogue was all of them was able to sing lead

  • Cindy is my favorite <3

  • maxine's pawerful voice!! I love song it and I love maxine :)

  • 3:08- Notice how some of the background harmonies on this song are borrowed from the Emotions' "Best of My Love' .... not hatin', it sounds good.

  • Where are ladies like this today?

  • @ 1:31 was that Chilli from tlc?

  • @SamadvsMusic

That was Terry Ellis, she's in the group.

  • @SamadvsMusic I don't think the woman at 1:31 is Terry. She does look like Chili, but I don't think it is Chili either. (She seems a couple of shades too light.)

  • Was that chilli??

  • @SamadvsMusic No. Chilli is not in this video. That's actress Tamala Jones.

  • i love maxine's voice its so jazzy and soulful, she was the motown voice of the group

  • Isn't the older man in this video the man from The Color Purple?

  • I love the concept of this video! It is like going into a time portal of 1950's Harlem with the most perfect singing group of ladies you ever heard!

  • I think this might be my favorite song from the album! This song is sooooo fucking good! Damn the harmonies, the music, the lyrics...! omg. When people say music ain't what it used to be... This is what they mean. I'm in my mid 20's but i owned this cd as a child and i just feel so sorry for the kids today. Really, I don't wanna sound like my parents did in the 90's.... but music today... there is no comparison. Everything is so vain, and it has no emotion, or meaning.

  • You will never hear harmony like this ever again where everybody voice was powerful to carry a song!!! love you en vogue

  • I LOVE YOU MAXINE JONES!!!!!!

  • Hard to believe they went so unnoticed...too much real talent, beauty and class for Hollywood's standards I guess.

  • @angelcat1974

They were far from unnoticed. En Vogue was the biggest group on the planet for a few years.

  • @funkee1 Yeah, the Funky Divas definitely dominated the first half of the 90's, hell you couldn't go anywhere without hearing an EV song. EV was hot, they were the shit! Lol!!. The big stand outs (or bigger hits) of course were: Hold On Don't Go You Don't Have To Worry Giving Him Something He Can Feel My Lovin Free Your Mind Whatta Man Don't Let Go
  • @angelcat1974

I disagree, EV made a big smash on the music scene when they debuted back in the spring of 1990. As far as them being "unnoticed" that wasn't the case. It's just that, once EV hit it big, then you had a big wave of other girl groups (TLC, SWV, Jade, Total, Spice Girls, DC etc) dominating the music scene through out the rest of 90's, that EV just somewhat got a little eclipse. But those groups should thank EV, for bringing back the girl groups, which was lacking in the 80's.

  • 1,000 of these views probably come from me...love it!

  • i am sure En vogue is the only grounp that don't need leading vocalthru the years..because every girls can sing....is not like SWV and Destiny's children...

  • Never again in this lifetime will we see four black girls in a group all EQUALLY beautiful and all EQUALLY talented. Never seen it before, never will again. Greatest RnB group of all time...

  • love the fact that this group shared lead vocals, all had a turn at sharing there voice

  • I love the 50's look they did with this video...

  • Favorite Album by En Vogue..."Funky Divas"

  • @clarkkent502 well her wishy-washy ass is gone again

  • This is at the top of the list of favorite songs by the best female group in my life time. As it was said, every last one of them was an artist in her own right, but coming together was pure joy for all those around. The retro video is definitely a favorite of mine as well; it just goes to show how beautiful black women were even in those days.
