  • They've got the link too.

  • Lou Reed says this is the best song of all time. Cant wait to hear it.

  • Lou Reed, then, is not only one hell of a musician, but he also has great taste in music :D

  • No worries I can listen to my legitimate copy of this album and look at your lovely pictures.... what a jazz genius! He really is the last word (or note) in jazz. I feel he's blown everyone out of the water ... unless someone else out there knows someone who can top Ornette???

  • u make it sound like a competition, which its not

  • stop being a prick

  • ha i wasn tryin t be but fair enough

  • CRAP.... WHERE'S THE FUKING SOUND

  • there is no music here!!!!

  • thank God someone gets it!

  • yes, but you have to click on the link in the infobox..:)

  • where is the "link in the infobox???

  • the google video got taken down too unfortunately :(

  • @eboyd32 I was just going to say that... Any other ideas?

  • unfortunately idk. i don't have any. god damn copyrights >(

  • with that said, this song is brilliant and was my gateway to his brilliant body of work.

  • youtube is a bunch of corporate bullshit now. of all fucking things to censor, they're gonna censor ORNETTE COLEMAN? greedy fucks.

  • warner brothers and your ignorant jazz-hating sleazy executives, i've made a couple of dozen home recordings of this for my non-jazz loving friends, half of whom have been converted to jazz, so more freakin fool you!!

  • Warner Music killed the sound on this video because they don't want you listening to good music.

  • Funny how they record it so that they can stop people from listening to it, shows how much they believe in their product...What a shame

  • You have to think a few minutes about the music business before digital.

  • true and indeed before recording

  • Buenas, tan solo decir que he vuelto a recuperar el audio del video.

Espero no molestar al autor, solo que me parecio una pena que este grantema no estubiese a disposicion de todo el mundo.

    Cultura libre ya!

  • I have the same problem, but some time ago there was sound...don't know what happend

  • How come there is no sound on this? I get sound on other YouTube videos, just not this one.....

  • I am also the same so.

  • same here :(

  • One of the most ahestatic composition in all music

  • ornettes alto with don cherrys trumpet is like peanut butter and jelly. the perfect fit with the perfect song

  • This is one of those tunes that always pops in my head when wandering the wards of New Orleans.

So much sorrow and beauty all at once.

From The Shape Of Jazz To Come to Ornette on Tenor, his stay at Atlantic was a fruitful one.

We are blessed to have Ornette's music.

  • if you have the song "richard pryor addresses a tearful nation", please please please post it!

i just heard it on public radio and its impossible to locate!

    thx

  • love the feeling

  • I first found out about Lonely Woman when I read an interview by Lou Reed where he said that when he started playing guitar he was trying sound like Ornette Coleman playing a saxophone. Brilliant song by an absolute genius

  • never thought that i would like this

  • haha,,, THIS is music,,, try grindcore and tell me what you think,,,

  • I love both free jazz AND grindcore.

    Especially jazzy grindcore.

  • haha,,, try death jazz

  • Atheist is the shit!

  • This guy is just so interesting and really hits me in the gut

  • You look like one who knows his jazz... could you help me find this tune... thing is, I can't remember the title, or most of the text... what I remember is, the main vocalist is male, and once in the song, one line, several women sings something like "Tell me I'm the only one.."

    Got any clue?

    Sorry for bothering you.

  • I LOVE THIS SONG!!!!!!!!!!! Words can't explain... words can't explain...

  • This is my favourite tune! It's played with such emotion, and I get a tiny musical orgasm everytime I hear this melody!

    Genious!!!

  • lol!

  • the most beautiful melody I have ever heard...

harmolodics at its best...thanks Ornette for the music...I had the chance to see him 2 years ago in Toronto for the first time...an incredible experience...

  • I'm doing a report for music class and out of the songs that I have heard on youtube this is by far the best. I just don't really like the others.

    good slide show!

  • gods speaking rhymes in rhythm... thanks for posting... this man is number one in my lexicon, with Eric Dolphy a close second...

  • This has always been a favorite of mine. The Shape of Jazz to Come is one of the greatest albums ever. Ornette pushed music forward and helped so many musicians realize that anything was possible.

  • yes! i SOO agree with that comment!

  • Ornette represents everything I like in music.

Listening to him is like inhaling that freedom that should be inherent to any creative process.

  • This is my second listen to this song.

I must say it's starting to grow on me x

  • it's good in a very strange way.

  • Yep after a drink of Jack Daniels.. lol!!

  • LOL!

  • jes101--bless the child who has young ears. i heard stuff like this in new york and it it grows on you quick there.

it amazes me how easily he moves the musicians from phase to phase and keeps them all in step with the sax.

  • This is one for my neighbours.

  • really? Ornette Coleman lives in England now? i should add that to my description. thanks.

  • I meant... Turn up the volume..for the neighbours LMAO . Thxs Gr8t post:)
