Hey dude, i live in London and am thinking of getting a 125 cc cruiser just for the experience (i usually ride sports bikes) but i am not quite sure which make is the best in terms of reliability, performance and riding experience, any advice for a brother baring in mind that i am only 5 feet 4 inches
i have seen this nice bike on ebay. very nice. will probably get one these days. will send u a friend request so i can ask you if i have any questons later on.
Just another note to any owners! CHANGE YOUR SUPRESSOR CAPS.....the one's fitted to a new ajs are about as cheap as you can get and when wet cause the electricity to travel through anything but the plugs.....when your pushing up the road dont say I didnt tell ya¬
hi, i got one of these two days ago. good bike apart from 4th and 5th gear sound and rev pretty much the same. it does change gear by the way. can i cure this by changing the front sprocket and what size? answer from someone that knows what he's talking about please. thanx
it would be physically impossible for 4th to be exactly like 5th unless it isn't changing gear...to adjust the gearing you also wouldnt change the front sprocket, you'd change the rear. It sounds like me to be one of two things.....both of which I had problems with. The first is the positioning of the shifter, if it doesnt return properly it wont let you change into 5th which will feel like you've changed gear when in actual fact your in 4th..
..or, there's a small badly made pin that can slip out and cause you to lose gears, usually though you lose all gear changing capability not just one gear....I'd take it back under warranty.
hi there, ive not long had my ajs.but in the last few days its started mucking me around.i let her warm up but everytime i try to move off it just stalls.anyone got any idea what could be causing this as its slightly getting on my tits and id appreciate any help i could get.many many thanks..ian :D
Hey Ian, I had exactly the same problem. You need to adjust the rev's, if you look around the carbs there's a little plastic screw you turn, adjust the revs accordingly. Also take the leads off the plugs and whack a bit of wd40 in the caps....check air filters as they get blocked when wet.....and finally, there's a little switch that cuts the bike out when the stand is out....check that aint clogged or loose, either one can cause the bike to stall.
Bit disappointed with the service I've received from AJS so far. Things keep going wrong. However, if you have some mehcanical knowledge the engines are easy to work on yourself. If your thinking of buying one I'd suggest doing your full test and investing in a second hand honda shadow which with the budget for this bike would allow you enough money left to do your full test or if your budget allows a HD sportster. Remember the law changes in Oct and there will be no CBT!
For only two grand it is hell of a bike. Nothing compares.Sooo cool. The flasher relay failed but was repaired under warranty free of charge. I visited AJS before I purchased it. They have all the spares in stock. Really helpfull guys. Ride on man...

Hm, reading through the comments there seems to be quite a few problems regarding this bike.
What advice would you give to someone thats thinking about getting one of these?
I must say it looks and sounds brilliant, and looks a comfy ride.
Nice video, mate.
