BOXER ENGINES WILL ALWAYS SOUND LIKE A BOXER REGARDLESS OF EQUAL, OR UN-EQUAL LENGTH HEADERS...IF YOU WANT POWER, GO EQUAL. IF YOU WANT RUMBLE, GO UN-EQUAL.
subarus without turbos are worthless underpowered waste of time having awd, waste of fuel and finally waste of money, want to waste more money but have a better sound get a turbo subaru and then after buy a sensible car coz it won't last, ex subaru owner
the b4's tend not to have a boxer rumble when turbo charged, cause the fact that they are twin turbo, running off eaqual length headers, however you can get unequal length headers for them if you want to drop a pretty penny
Its a non-turbo model just a b4 rs, hence there is no rumble sound.
Pause the video when the camera goes over the b4 badge and you will see the badge is plain silver...has no red outline so therefore is a non-turbo model like my friends car.
Inaccurate. You don't need a turbo to get the rumble... it comes from unequal length headers, which are found in turbo models, but you can get them for non-turbo models
@shaggy80hunter Firstly non turbo Subaru's still have boxer engines. Therefore the rumble is not due to the boxer style engine.
The rumble is due to the unequal length headers found in only turbo variants. The B4 in the video is a B4 RS which has a 2.0 DOHC AVCS EJ204 engine which is naturally aspirated. It therefore has no rumble due to it having equal length headers as it is a non-turbo.
@GeorgefromNZ bro your fucking stupid. im subaru certified idiot, for 1 i never said non turbo doesnt have boxer engines did i ahaha no i didnt .. so your arguing a point never said by me .. i knew they did scrub. second.. yes the rumble is from the boxer style engine as its nick named "the boxer rumble" thus is why the porche boxer sounds similar in some ways... scrub stfu you dont know shit stop googling engine codes to look cool
@shaggy80hunter If you were subaru certified you would know that the rumble does not come from the style of engine that subaru makes but the "unequal length header" that they put on. Have you ever heard a WRX or STi with an "equal length header?" It has absolutley no rumble. dumbass...

@shaggy80hunter Ha your calling me an idiot? Im not the one trying to be tough on a webpage buddy! Back to my point, firstly you said "the rumble has nothing to do with the turbo ... the rumble is produced by the boxer style engine"
You stated that the 'rumble' is due to the boxer engine. If that is the case, then please explain why non-turbo boxer engines do not have the 'rumble'?
For someone who is certified I thought you would have known such a simple fact.
@shaggy80hunter .... your a fuckwit and there is no chance you are "subaru certified"... go get a wrx and put Equal length headers on it. you'll see that the 'boxer rumble' is not from the engine, but the headers. chuck unequal length headers on a N/A subaru... you'll get the same sound.... btw your car sounds ricey as
Did anyone pick up that the car has an STI Genome exhaust which explains the sound. Probably has headers but it could just be the exhaust

@GeorgefromNZ Because they have equal length headers, turbos have uneven length headers factory fitted
