my google chrome is running so slow, it takes 25 minutes to upload a three minute video. When I first got chrome it was faster than ever. Now it is WAY TO SLOW. I have to wait for a youtube video to load for an hour. Internet explorer isnt to fast either.I have not downloaded any software since i got chrome. Please try to improve chrome.

I agree with those who characterized the contest as a scam. I distinctly remember taking my valuable time to write out several ideas according to Google's requirements. They had me sign an agreement that said I would get something in exchange for giving them something. One of the things I expected to get was a chance to have MY idea voted on and a chance to see other's ideas. Guess what? I will never participate in another Google contest and I won't trust them either.
Typical Google - 150,000 ideas and you couldn't even pick one - let alone the shortlist you claimed that you would!
Instead you've bailed out and just put some intangible categories together. $10 million scattered across these categories is going to vanish into nothing with nobody being helped.

My idea is to create a social networking website in which to host and download for free the works of users belonging to the site. Others who placed their works may receive compensation for them, which depend on the vote of Internet users. Raising funds to allow the compensation shall be borne by the agency that manages the website (I recommended that it be Google), using various methods of financing.

Google has updated its 2009-01-26 blog post (which is of course easy to miss), about the first delay [I would post the URL, but it seems YouTube don't like URLs...] (no more details, though... no new date, no details on their current advancement). Well, I certainly prefer delays, than them silently ignoring half the ideas, but more transparence would be quite welcomed, and certainly would not hurt them, in this case (considering the massive number of responses, it's quite normal).

Well, Slidersv, I've already given them my idea in print to save the world economy and it was within the timeline set out for the contest. I'm sure I'll win as soon as someone reads the entry. The problem their having is reading over 150,000 entries. They gave a pretty tight entry time for this event and never dreamed that many people would be able to think that fast but I can assure you my idea is simple and will effect everyone on this planet.
To be fair to Google it would take a long time to get through the 140,000 entrants that start: "My website will save the world because....", and ends: ... give me the prize money to develop it. before getting to the 10,000 entrants that might actually be worth something.
The might of Google should have put more staff onto this project if they knew it was going to be behind schedule.
Google had a great idea and it sad to see it loosing momentum with the delays and increasing uncertainty in their decision process. They had a deadline, their was a rush to submit ideas and meet the deadline on October 20th. Then a postponement in January, missing their first deadline. It was then moved to March 17th, today. And now, the only update is not the top 100 to vote but a updated repeating the same message saying to come back later.

It seems that many people want to receive money for their idea if it wins. I would like to suggest the following to Google: Make a book out of the choosen 100 ideas and sell it for X amount and divide the proceeds from the sale. A smaller percentage for the losing 95 ideas and a higher percentage for the 5 winning ideas. Everybody wins: Google selling advertisements on the book sale site and the inventors of the chosen 100 ideas.

Google has updated its 2009-01-26 blog post (which is of course easy to miss), about the first delay [I would post the URL, but it seems YouTube don't like URLs...] (no more details, though... no new date, no details on their current advancement). Well, I certainly prefer delays, than them silently ignoring half the ideas, but more transparence would be quite welcomed, and certainly would not hurt them, in this case (considering the massive number of responses, it's quite normal).

Well, Slidersv, I've already given them my idea in print to save the world economy and it was within the timeline set out for the contest. I'm sure I'll win as soon as someone reads the entry. The problem their having is reading over 150,000 entries. They gave a pretty tight entry time for this event and never dreamed that many people would be able to think that fast but I can assure you my idea is simple and will effect everyone on this planet.

To be fair to Google it would take a long time to get through the 140,000 entrants that start: "My website will save the world because....", and ends: ... give me the prize money to develop it. before getting to the 10,000 entrants that might actually be worth something.
The might of Google should have put more staff onto this project if they knew it was going to be behind schedule.

Google had a great idea and it sad to see it loosing momentum with the delays and increasing uncertainty in their decision process. They had a deadline, their was a rush to submit ideas and meet the deadline on October 20th. Then a postponement in January, missing their first deadline. It was then moved to March 17th, today. And now, the only update is not the top 100 to vote but a updated repeating the same message saying to come back later.

It seems that many people want to receive money for their idea if it wins. I would like to suggest the following to Google: Make a book out of the choosen 100 ideas and sell it for X amount and divide the proceeds from the sale. A smaller percentage for the losing 95 ideas and a higher percentage for the 5 winning ideas. Everybody wins: Google selling advertisements on the book sale site and the inventors of the chosen 100 ideas.
