@eohinyorks in canada the majority of hunters use pump actions like the remmington 870, and semi-auto shotguns, the upland game bird shooters like grouse, chicken use over- unders. few, very few people use side by sides or single shots. although some begginers use a single shot.

Looks like a hell of a lot of fun. I do it here in the USA but can't put up the numbers you lads can. We hunt them near grain silos and barns, bridges etc.

For the uninitiated and uninformed these are NOT true pigeons, rather a "rock dove". They are flying rats, no more no less. They are an invasive species in the USA, like the starling. Kill as many as you can, as fast as possible. Nice going with the double barrel guys, we don't see those guns used in the states as often anymore.

u guys are lucky, u have the right to bear arms. u can most lightly get a gun just with a background check. in the UK we have to go through hell and back just to get a firearms certificate, even then we have way to many regulations. i think i will stick to my air rifle! :D lol

I think Hunting for fun as a sport is completly wrong and im sure many people will agree with me on that one. but if you hunt for animals that you will consume then thats a different matter and im sure at least the animal or bird as die for a reason and purpose.

in most cases hunting depends on what you are going for that statement to apply. deer could help cut the cost on food, rabbits for food, and fur, pigeons on the other hand have little purpose to kill except for sport or population control. but i agree with you in a lot of cases that i see here in the usa.
