i read his books on America and the language and wish any writer could present their stuff the way Bill does. only think that irritates me is his I wish I were British accent. sometimes he does overkill with this inclination of his.

Bill Bryson is a genius of the highest order. I did not grow up in the fifties, but was raised by children of the fifties. I laughed out loud like an idiot the weekend I read this book. Bill Bryson is fantastic. No really, fantastic.
