  • Here's the demo from Pygmy Projects: pouet[dot]net/prod[dot]php?which=3038

And for those who want it to listen with better quality, here's the MOD file: amp[dot]dascene[dot]net/downmod[dot]php?index=34645

  • remember this tune, I used Protracker in the nineties

  • I like this Demo Song (extension).... but this one video quality is terrible.

  • OMG this is the frickin song in an old game for the palm os platform called Bike or Die. I can't believe they used this song.

  • I watched this demo so many times.

  • yeeeah this song rocks man it sounds so great from the amiga, haha love it!

  • Probably one of the best chiptunes ever made

YEP - this is realy one of the best in all time!

    Jester rulez 4ever!!!!!!!

  • @slashatd a chiptune?:) lol

  • @thorgallpl exactly.. was going to reply him.. :)

  • is there any emulator for mac ?

  • Hi, I Love Protracker.

  • I often use Amigas to compose MIDI tunes to port to a DAW and embellish.

Paste into bar THE JIMMY RIDDLE ORCHESTRA - MIDI SYMPHETTE for a decent little micro symphony.

  • this one is my favourite jester track ever. perfect.

  • OctaMED rulez :P :D

  • holy shit the second song is dope. Those type of strings/pads are the trademark of amiga music :D

Anybody knows synth/wise how to recreate it ?

  • there's some project for locating what made the ST-01 sounds. It might help. the only real way to "recreate" the classic amiga sound is to well, compose on an amiga!

  • @JeezoozeChrysler: Most demoscene musicians weren't rich enough to afford fancy gear (or at least not a lot of it), but some stuff we consider fancy today wasn't expensive then, because people were still stupid and selling Jupiters to buy M1s.

Lots of super cheap (today) ROMplers. Roland U-220s/U-110s/D-110s, Yamaha TG-33s, Proteus 1s, Oberheim Matrix 1000s, Alpha Junos, etc. And get cheap old effects units like Quadraverbs and Boss guitar pedals.

  • @woskhali Hey thx man ! Someday I hope I can buy a ROMpler, that warm sound is simply unobtainable by VSTs . Meanwhile I "explored" some MOD files and listened to the samples that they were using. Tiny and short samples with ultra low Bit rate, and the "strings" vibe i was referring to is given by looping the end of the sample to have "sustain" . Anyway I found an ezy way to have those old sweet sounds, that would be Sampler + Synth Samples cds (akai and that stuff). Old crunchy dirty soundz :D

  • @JeezoozeChrysler Akais have the biggest sample libraries, but Roland S-770s can read Akai disks, and they have a better interface with a monitor and mouse plugged in. Plus a nicer filter. Hell, get both, hardware samplers are basically free these days, as everyone's moving to software. In fifteen or twenty years, I bet people will be saying they were dumb for selling S1100s, like they did with analogs :P.

  • Protracker was definitely the best Amiga Tracker for me.

3.1x was superb in all of it's incarnations. Not much I can do with Renoise now that I couldn't do with that (aside from the big adult stuff like recording etc.)

This song is fucking excellent too!!

Would love a .MOD of it!!

  • Just google "cyberride.mod"

  • Cheers for the reply.

Want to send me the .mod direct?

    Would appreciate it

  • do got song Ecstasy sheep - dr acid?

  • best program ever! magic

  • Demo is Called "Extensions" from Pygmy Projects

  • O holy Commodore be with us forever :)

  • Sanity rulez :)

  • nice, i used protracker on mi old Amiga 600

  • cool, im lookin for some decent old tracker music to play in a dj set soon, think i'll download the mod file. might have to remove that 'kick some ass' sample though hehe

  • Great song, I remember it! It was in an Amiga Demo :-)

    P.s.

If you want to create similar music, exists the free software MILKY TRACKER, a Portracker/Fasttreacker clone!!!

  • i used to love Protracker!!

  • yeah me too... but I always preferred ProTracker 2.3A from Mushroom studios ;)

  • Never knew music was this good back in the olden days :D

  • I absolutely love this track! It's perfect, very nice bass, great sounding synth, etc!! MUST get a mp3 somewhere!

  • who created this tune?

  • Jester/Sanity

  • awsome music!!! I miss my Amiga and all the times I used with Startracker.

  • Thanks a lot, VddEnergise !

  • cool

  • I was spend hours and hours in that piece of work, back in 90's.

    Protracker rocks!

I'm still searching for a windows capability issue of this.

  • try madtracker

  • ModPlug (known as OpenMPT now) is as close to ProTracker as it gets ;) plays back flawless (99.9% of the time)

  • look for it on pouet(dot)--net_ thats where i found it.

  • roadrash!

  • I'm an exprience protacker and cubase user (and made some amigaremixes) so I know what I'm talking about..

  • protracker still rocks.. You can do superprecise slides/bends/vibration. Cyberride was one of my favs, but there are so many quality good tunes (mostly demo-scene) many people haven't heard of. Technically superior to what you hear on MTV sometimes..

  • not 4-d but impressive unit, is this work group four stuff, almost pure presentment, reporting profiles are nice here, solid runtime performance can it do porting.

  • take me a look...what???this song is awesome...on my favourites...this is amiga power!!!...remember ;)

  • Listen to those gritty ass samples...freakin awesome!:D

  • holy crap. brings back some memories. one of my favourite mods. and protracker was awesome!

  • can you upload the Song in MOD Format

  • i love it

  • Damn, that kicks! Second part reminded me of the Alien Breed 3D music.

  • LOLZ

  • Actually, the demo was by Pygmy Projects, only the guy who did the tune (Jester aka Volker Tripp) was a member of Sanity at the time.

  • dude. is this song yours? because if it is, you're the fuckin' best. i'm a little rusty at protracker.

  • No, this Track called "Cyberride" from the Assembly 93-winning demo "Extension" (08/93) by Sanity.

  • @tachoschieber

Actually its from Extension by Pygmy project - 1993

    watch?v=ObiLBAhY6dU

  • This track was composed by Jester. It was "made famous" by a re-version of it made by the psytrance duo Logic Bomb (aptly named "Extension" in their album "headware" ).

I notice the version recorded here skips some parts at parts, you should be able to find the original on the internet.

Oh yeah, this track is absolutely amazing.

  • JAnd a bit of a rocking track this is, too.

  • Yep... Protracker RULZ :)

  • The ProTracker was the best on amiga :)

  • En QUE AÑO (YEAR) PROTRACKER APPEARS?
