7olusegun, don't be disprespectful. If people want to be catholic, there is nothing wrong with that at all. It is the individual's right and personal business if she or he wants to be close to god, and how they choose to do that, is none of your business. Stop acting like a typical, rude bible beater, and insulting and disprecting people. You really need to grow up and stop acting so narrow minded towards everything in life. @phati129 Technically Benny Hinn is not a "Protestant" in it's true form. Benny Hinn is a Pentecostal/Charismatic it seems. The modern Pentecostal movement did not begin until the early 20th century and the Charismatic movement did not start until around the 1960's or 1970's. Benny Hinn as far as I can tell belongs to this group.

@parakeethands Evangelicals ARE Protestants. MOST modern protestant denominations were not around in the era of Luther and Calvin, but all Christian movements eventually traceable to the Reformation and it's founding tenants are considered Protestant.

Benny Hinn is not nor was he ever a Catholic. He was born in Jaffa, Israel and was raised in either the Greek or Armenian Orthodox tradition.

His real inspiration was Kathryn Kuhlman a Methodist tele-evangelist who was popular on TV in the 60's and 70's, from what I remember.

Just because Hinn went to Rome at the time of the funeral of Pope John Paul II does not mean he is Catholic. People of all faiths came to Rome for this event, including Pres. George W. Bush who is a professed Methodist.

So amazing that was on CNN! Benny did fabulous! The Interviewer did good too! She had a valid point with a cause and effect answer which could provoke change! Let's get the people to be real with Christianity not just pick and choose like so many denominations do, especially in my area.

Go to church Sunday yet live like Satan the rest of the week with no real relationship with Jesus! Her question about picking and choosing was a good question to provoke the millions watching to be sincere Christians! Not luke-warm Christians! Whether or not she meant it that was it was a great door to open on public mass media TV! So glad he said Jesus is coming back on secular TV also!

Hinn actually comes off reasonably well here - I was kind of surprised at how well he spoke.

The interviewer, however, is a completely vapid airhead. Its almost like she was a parody. Worst ever.
