Why in the world do Sols not use Grand Viper? I can easily pick out several points, especially against Venom, where Grand Viper would be the perfect dodge/damage/setup for a combo.

That's why I say it's a dodge, anticipate their attack and counter. Starting off the fight with it is pretty risky, but if you know who you're playing it can work.
P.C. is definitely good. I imagine he just started using Grand Viper when Accent Core came out, since you can combo off it unlike in the previous versions, so maybe he's still finicky with it. I dunno though. It seems like a misunderstood attack to me.
Its kind of risky. Well whenever I fight sol, Im always anticipating a grand viper via carcass raid. Or when Sol wants to dodge dark angel I punish em :D
You should stop watching P.C's matches and start watching Isa's or 012's sol. Those two are the best.
How is it risky? Unless they roman cancel, they can't get out of it. It's a very easy counter hit, and if you get a clean hit you can chain it into sidewinder. I suppose if you just randomly shoot of attacks without paying any attention to what the enemy is doing, then yes, grand viper is pretty risky, but just about anything is in that case.

In Accent core they can't do them anymore. Sol's combos are almost completely different in AC and he got nerfed.

you can combo off grand viper with roman cancel, a dustloop's possible in reload, and sidewinder in slash
