I read an article on the Economist months ago that in twenty years China's military budget will surpass that of the U.S, and within the next 10 years the Chinese are planning on building 6 aircraft carriers which signals there ambition to transform from a tactical force operating within its boundaries to a strategic global force. Not to mention by that time the U.S would have double its current debt and at some point will have to cut its military spending drastically.
